Miguel Ángel Fidalgo fifth, Eneko Llanos seventh and Anna Rovira ninth in the Ironman 70.3 Barcelona

This Sunday has been held in the town of Calella, a new edition of the Ironman 70.3 from Barcelona where 2.300 triathletes have participated in the test.

In the men's category victory has been for the German Jan Frodeno with a final time of 4: 03: 28, followed by Maurice Clavel (4: 05: 42) and the World Champion in 2013 Frederick Van Lierde (04: 07: 48) in third position.

In the female category, the winner was the Danish Camila Pedersen (04: 33: 34), followed by Lucy Gossage (04: 38: 07) and of Parys Edwards (04: 38: 41) in third position.

 

 

The first to get out of the water was the Spanish Guillem Rojas, closely followed by Frederick Belubre. After 40 seconds, Jan Frodeno, Carlos Aznar, Silvian Sudrie and Miguel Ángel Fidalgo came out.

Already on the bike the strength of the Belgian Frederick Van Lierde caused that he climbed positions being in head and arriving at the T2 followed closely by Maurice Clavel, Sylvain Sudrie and Boris Stein. Jan Frodeno reached more than 1 minute behind.

The Spaniards Miguel Ángel Fidalgo and Eneko Llanos  They were more than 5 minutes behind the Belgian at the start of the 21 km race on foot.

The sector of carrear was very fast where the German Jan Frodeno set the best time, which helped him reach the finish line with a final time of 4:03:28, followed in second position by Maurice Clavel y Frederick Van Lierde third.

The first Spaniard to cross the finish line has been Miguel Ángel Fidalgo, that after a spectacular race, getting the second best time, I finished the race in the fifth place with a final time of 4: 10: 19.

Eneko Llanos I finish in eighth position, Carlos Lopez in the eleventh.

In the female category, the dominance of the test has been for the Danish Camille Pedersen crossing the finish line with a record of 4h33: 34.

The German Ricarda Lisk has been the fastest in swimming in the calm waters of Calella, arriving at the T2 with 26 seconds ahead of the Danish Camilla Pedersen and 32 seconds over the French Charlotte Morel. The first Spanish to enter the T1 was Judith Corachán in seventh position and the second was Anna Rovira in fourteenth. While Pedersen has come second in the swimming segment to 26 seconds of Ricarda Lisk.

Already on the bike, the Danish has taken the lead and has not let go until the end. Behind, the places of the podium have been very disputed between Tine Deckers and Parys Edwars that have reached second and third respectively to the T2.

In the race on foot the story has been completely different and finally they have accompanied Pedersen on the podium the British Lucy Gossage, second, and Emma Pooley, third. Of the Spanish representatives in Calella, the best has been the Catalan Anna Rovira with a meritorious ninth position to 18: 44 minutes of the winner.
