Four Spaniards will be in the final of the World Cup in Tiszaújváros

Four Spanish triathletes have agreed to the Triathlon ITU World Cup final to be held on Sunday 9 August in Tiszaújváros, after overcoming their respective semifinals disputed throughout this Saturday.

 

 

The competition consisted of an initial stretch of three laps for a course of 750 m swimming, followed by 20 km cyclists for a flat circuit on asphalt over two laps, to conclude with 5 km of running.

Divided into several eliminatory rounds, each semifinal only granted places to the seven best of each of the four series in the men's category. Whereas in the feminine category the 14 first classified of each of the two batches obtained their pass to the vertiginous competition that will be developed tomorrow.

Anna Godoy He has achieved the classification in the second series, after leaving the water in the first positions. Subsequently he has remained well placed in the next two segments, offering a very regular level and getting his pass to the final.

On the other hand after the first masculine semifinal Antonio Serrat y Jesús Gomar They have progressed towards tomorrow's appointment. Both have made a great display in this series, highlighting especially in the section of the race on foot in which Serrat has achieved the best partial of the sector and Gomar the third best time of these 5 km of running and finishing his round in fourth and fifth position. In this way, the two Spanish triathletes have advanced to the final stage.

In the fourth male batch the two remaining Spanish contenders entered the scene. Ricardo Hernández He has stood out throughout the race, establishing himself in the first places from the beginning. The Canarian triathlete managed to qualify after crossing the finish line in sixth position. While Roberto Sánchez Mantecón has had worse luck in the afternoon today and has not managed to pass the cut, entering the finish line in 16º place.

The final female elite will start the 15: 45 hours, while the men's event will start from the 17: 10 tomorrow, competing both on sprint distance.

For his part, Guillermo Ferrer has also qualified for the final of the Junior Triathlon European Cup that will take place tomorrow, Sunday after finishing his semifinal in seventh place.
