Become a Principal Collaborator of the circuit that includes an event in each province capital of the Valencian Community.

The Federació de Triatló of the Comunitat Valenciana and Fundación Trinidad Alfonso have renewed and extended their agreement so that both entities continue collaborating in 2018. If in recent years the support was limited to the Valencia Triathlon, in 2018 that alliance is extended and will also be given in the tests that are held in Castellón and Alicante and that make up the Mediterranean Triathlon circuit.

With this agreement, the foundation presided over by Juan Roig is betting again on one of the sports that has been booming in recent years and, in the case of València in particular, gathers every September around 3.500 triathletes, one of the events more numerous of the national panorama in this sport.

With this step forward, the Foundation becomes the Principal Collaborator of the Mediterranean Triathlon, who will have this calendar:

  • Castellón Triathlon: 30 June-1 July.
  • Valencia Triathlon: 8-9 September.
  • Alicante Triathlon: 29-30 September

If last year the Valencia Triathlon had the incentive to host the Spanish Triathlon and Paratriathlon Championship, this year goes a step further and will host the European Cup, so that some of the best European triathletes of the moment will meet. This test has been included in the Competition Support Program (PAC CV), promoted by the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation itself.

The entity chaired by Juan Roig will continue its commitment to bring the sport closer to the youngest and will once again promote an area in the Triathlete Fair dedicated to the little ones. Its about 'Mini Triathlon', a recreational and non-competitive space for children to have their first contacts with this sport.

Trinidad Alfonso and Mediterranean Triathlon Agreement

Elena Tejedor, director of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, was satisfied after the signing of the agreement: “We are very happy to be able to extend this agreement. The work that the Triathlon Federation is doing is very important and the fact that last year they opted to bring events of such magnitude here, such as the Spanish Championship, the last edition, and the European Cup, this year, this is what show. We are now extending our collaboration to Alicante and Castellón because they are two events that follow in the footsteps of the one in Valencia and that still have great potential. I am sure that they will be three reference events and that they will contribute to continue talking about the Comunitat de l'Esport”.

Valeriano Moreno, president of the Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana, wanted to thank the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso for "Continue collaborating and believing in this project, with which we wanted to go a step further and organize a popular triathlon circuit, which is present in the three capitals of our community. For the Federation it is very important that there are Valencian entities that support and collaborate with our sport as the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation does“. Regarding the celebration of the European Cup, Moreno assessed that "For the Valencian Community to host international events, as is going to be done this year in Valencia is very important, so that our athletes can compete at home, so that our public and lovers of our sport can enjoy an event of these characteristics. In addition, it is a way for all those international athletes who come to compete to find in Valencia and in our community an ideal place to practice triathlon. "
