Garmin VectorTM 2 and 2S: single or double power sensor? You choose!

Garmin, the world leader in portable navigation solutions, presents its new models of power meter for cyclists: VectorTM 2 and VectorTM 2S.

Two models that add to the Garmin family of meters and that seek to greatly simplify the installation of this type of products, as well as offer the data that really matters to train in the smartest way on the bike. Always with a single goal: to improve the performance of cyclists day by day.

The power, essential

As it can not be otherwise, the power is the most reliable indicator to calculate the performance on the bike at any time. These meters revolutionize the way in which power is calculated and the way in which data is obtained.

Thus, unlike other power meters, VectorTM 2 and VectorTM 2S perform the measurement from the pedal, the place where force is applied. In the first model, it is possible to check the strength of the left and right legs individually. For its part, the second model detects the force on the left pedal to estimate the total power.

Your cycling dynamics with VectorTM 2

Since factors such as fatigue, physical condition, injury or recovery affect the way you ride your bike, it is essential to customize the training to the fullest. In this sense, the new cycling dynamics provided by the VectorTM 2 model allows you to customize the training according to the strengths and weaknesses, since they show exactly when the power is being generated.

It also indicates in which part of the surface of the pedal the force is being applied so that the athlete makes sure that the position of the cleat is adequate. It even informs about when and for how long the cyclist has been sitting and standing in order to estimate the effectiveness in each position.

Simple installation and change

Another of the strengths of these new models lies in its simplicity of installation. It is only necessary to go to a store or nearby distributor, purchase the product and install it personally in a matter of minutes. And it is not necessary to consider complex repercussions in the transmission or wheels or install external sensors. And unlike its predecessor it is not necessary to worry about washers, which translates into the rapid change from one bicycle to another.

On the other hand, thanks to its additional margin in thickness and width for the connecting rod, VectorTM 2 and VectorTM 2S fit almost all bicycle models. You only have to choose between the standard model, which fits 12 to 15 mm thick and 44 mm wide, or the large model, which fit 15 and 18 mm thick and up to 44 mm connecting rods of width.

To this is added an LED light to show relevant information about the configuration of the products and the maintenance they require.

The perfect combination

Garmin VectorTM 2 and VectorTM 2S are the ideal partners of Garmin GPS compatible with ANT + TM technology. Thus, if they are combined, for example, with the Edge® 500, Edge® 800, Edge® 510, Edge® 810 and Forerunner® 910XT / 920XT devices, they allow cyclists to have global power data (updated every second), Real-time cadence and Training PeaksTM parameters: standardized power (NPTM), intensity factor (SITM) and stress level (TSSTM).

The VectorTM series communicates with Garmin devices (Edge, Forerunner) using ANT + technology. Once the VectorTM data is stored in the chosen device, it is responsible for sending the complete training information to the computer through a compatible wireless connection.

Online community

Like the rest of the equipment of the firm, Garmin VectorTM is compatible with Garmin ConnectTM, an online community with thousands of users and more than 30 millions of activities around the world where data can be shared such as time, distance, speed , altitude and heart rate. And all this shown in the most attractive way, since the queries are visualized in the form of graphics, illustrations or detailed reports.
