FETRI presents the Spanish Grand Prix of Cofidis 2016 Triathlon

This circuit will be comprised of three qualifying stages, among which are the Spanish Olympic Triathlon Championship, the Spanish Sprint Triathlon Championship and to which the Grand Final will be added.

The 2016 season will be different. A year in which one of the most exciting and longed for initiatives of the triathlon family will break out: the birth of the Grand Prix of Spain Triathlon.

La Spanish Federation of Triatlon, in collaboration with the firm Cofidis, will launch a circuit focused on the triathlete. He Grand Prix of Spain Triathlon Cofidis born with a clear purpose, to put in value the real protagonists of triathlon: our elite triathletes, clubs and Age Groups. For this, it will be endowed with important economic prizes and gifts of great level, which will seek to revitalize and enhance our athletes.

The circuit will be composed of three punctual stages, among which are the Spanish Olympic Triathlon Championship, el Sprint Triathlon Spain Championship and to which the Grand finale (which, like the Grand Final of the ITU World Series, will have a higher score weight). And finally, a great final party to recognize our triathletes and remember a season full of success.

There is a common project devised by and for the triathletes, in which we want to involve all our athletes. Therefore, and in order to outline the structure of this new circuit, the next 22 in October we will meet with the First Division clubs and with all those who want to take an active part in the development process of this exciting adventure that we are about to start.
