Gustavo Rodríguez wins the Ibero-American Triathlon MD Championship in Havana

This weekend the Ibero-American Triathlon Championship is being held in Havana

 

Gustavo Rodríguez he could not start the triathlon season better, he won yesterday the gold medal in the Ibero-American Triathlon MD Championship held in Havana (Cuba)

Great demonstration of the Spanish triathlete in a competition in which he had to face a swimming segment of 1,9 km of swimming that have passed in the channels of the Marina de Hemingway. At the exit of the first transition 90 km cyclists awaited him who have run around the Cuban capital, to finish with 21 km of running on foot along the Malecon of Havana.

Gustavo dominated the race practically from the beginning, coming out in third position of the water, and flying on the bike in the 90 km where he got the second to reach the T2 in more than 10 minutes.

Already on the foot race, he knew how to maintain the advantage to get the victory with a final time of 4: 05: 05, followed in second position by the Italian Alberto Casadei (4: 12: 42) and by the Czech Petr Vabrousek (04: 34: 47) in third final position
