Gustavo Rodríguez "KM0 is one of the most ambitious projects I've seen in triathlon"

Gustavo, in his step to the Triathlon of Long distance has recently achieved a sixth place in the Enbruman, one of the toughest tests in Europe, so he comes in a great state of form.

Gustavo Rodríguez will participate in the first edition of the KM0 Triathlon to be held this weekend, where part as one of the favorites to take the victory in this inaugural edition.

Since Triathlon News we wanted to ask you how you are for the test

Why did you choose Triathlon Madrid Km0?

I was looking for a triathlon with a fun and hard circuit, moving a bit away from the rolling circuits, of those that you fit in the T1 output and you do not release the coupling until the T2. In this aspect the Km0 circuit has a great richness, with areas of steep slopes, ports, technical descents, fast, coupled areas of rolling ... after the race for Madrid and the final in the Km0 promises to be apotheosis.

 • Do you think that you can become a reference?

By circuit without a doubt, one of the most ambitious projects I've seen in triathlon. Now it only remains to check that the organization is up to such an event (I am confident that it will be) and that the triathletes will support the project with our participation.

• This season is having very good results and you come to compete in Enbruman with a fantastic sixth place, do you see yourself with options to fight for the victory in KM0 Triathlon?

I'm preparing for it. To this day I have a little contradictory feelings after a whole season accumulating kilometers of work, but I'm doing everything I can to get to the starting line at my best, with that I would be satisfied. Then there will be hard opponents to beat to complicate the thing even more, but that is no longer in my hands.

 • Who do you think the rivals are to beat?

A priori Alejandro Santamaria, Diego Paredes, Gorka Bizkarra and Hector Guerra will be very tough opponents.

• Any advice for those participating in the test?

Take the bicycle very calmly, especially in the area of the ports. It is easy to come up at that height of the race and pass, whoever does will end up paying.

• Are you going to compete in something else this season or are you already finished?

If the forces respond, I would like to finish the season in the Spanish Championship of LD in Ibiza and try to revalidate the title of Champion of Spain.

 • Any tests already planned for next year?

Embrun was a great discovery, I really enjoyed preparing it and for the year it will probably be marked in red on my calendar.

There are no previous results.
