Iván Tejero and Gurutze Frades win the Calima Desafío Posadas 2016

At 8h30, the first of the tests scheduled for today in Posadas, the V Calima Desafío Posadas, was released.

Iván Tejero from Malaga and the Basque Gurutze Frades, both classified to Kona 2016 (Ironman World Championship) were the first classified to cross the Calima finish line.

Gurutze Frades, who already met Posadas in her Spanish Championship in 2013 being Champion of Spain, she made a solo career from swimming, a segment of which practically at the end of the swimming segment she was the leader. The Basque woman was looking for a race with more than 35 ºC, and she found it, close to 40 ºC in the hot hours of the race on foot, but fortunately the village sections were watered by the neighbors with hoses, sponges and many liters of water .

Frades had to get masculine motivation to go to the top, so he competed against the maximum possible men leaving the 7ª in the general. More than 10 minutes came the second classified, Jessica Pérez and more behind the third, Esther Córdoba.

Iván Tejero he left with 2 minutes of the water and alone he crossed the 90 km of cycling to arrive with more of 3 minutes to the second transition, on a group with the Basque Roberto Corujo and the Ecijano Moncho Valles to the front in which also were the Damian locals Vindel, Sergio Cruz and Ezequiel Hernández.

Finally Tejero endured the pull in the hard 21 km and won with Ezequiel Hernández second and Sergio Cruz third, since although both cut distances in cycling and on foot, they were not enough to reach a Tejero in the last segment.

Triathlon Iron Caliphs

As a parallel test, the Andalusia Sprint Triathlon Championship, the XXVIII edition of Triathlon Iron Caliphs with about 500 participants, a test that was attended by the entire Andalusian elite in male and female category. The heat was already present in the water at 27 degrees, and outweighing the 35.

In men, brothers Ignacio González y Alberto González They crowned the Pantano de la Breña after a very hard ramp of 400 m from the water, with them their teammate, English. Unless 5 sg left a stretched group with other favorites, led by swimmers Camilo Puertas and Germán Roríguez.

From the first meters, the Gonzalez and Cañas brothers impose the relay strategy in cycling and soon get an insurmountable difference of 1: 15 in the 10 and 1: 40 in the second transition. After them a group of 4 swimmers with Puertas, Bruno Raso, Samer Ali and Germán Rodríguez enter the second transition to go running with only 10 sg on a huge group that included Victoriano Raso, Andrés Carnevali and the former Olympian. The 5 km on foot race was a recital of Alberto and Nacho González, alone from the exit of the pits to impose entering the hand on the finish line. To 41 sg came Alejandro Cañas, while the top 5 is for Bruno Raso and Samer Ali to little more than 2 minutes.

In women the race was very close with the junior Ana Carvajal coming out at the head of the water with Irene Cabrera but in the cycling segment the current champion of Spain quadriathlon Ana Ruz came to the head and released Cabrera. Ana Ruz and Ana Carvajal arrive at the second transition with 1: 40 over Cabrera and over 2 minutes over Rocio Molas. Distances already insurmountable for the persecuting group.

On both sides of this great test a great party was celebrated for all the participants and companions, since Posadas once again, and in its 28 edition it signed with great success the reason why it is one of the most spectacular tests of the national calendar.
