Javier Gómez Noya in the penultimate round of the Triathlon World Championship in Edmonton

This weekend is held in Edmonton Canada, the last appointment of the World Series before the Grand Final to be held next September 19 in Chicago.

Javier Gómez Noya, the big favorite to get the title, is presented in this test after getting the victory in Stockholm and a third place in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship last weekend in Austria. Mario Mola, second in the Ranking, Francesc Godoy and Vicente Hernández are the rest of the Spanish representation.

Highlights the absence of Fernando Alarza, who is preparing thoroughly the Grand Final, and the Brownlee brothers.

The race, in sprint format, will benefit more Mario Mola or the French Vicent Luis, that if they get the victory will be the main rival of Noya in the Grand Final of Chicago.

The World Series has this year ten events: Abu Dhabi, Auckland, Gold Coast, Cape Town, Yokohama, London, Hamburg, Stockholm, Edmonton and Chicago (Grand Final).

After the dispute of the first eight World events, Javier Gómez continues as a provisional leader, with 3.820 points. The second classified is Mario Mola (3374) and the third, Fernando Alarza (2961), while French Luis Vincent, who participated in just four races (one victory, one second place and two bronze), ranks fourth in the championship. Other triathletes to consider are the South African Richard Murray , the Australian Aaron Royle or the Portuguese Joao Pereira
