Javier Gómez Noya: "the result in Edmonton is not the main objective but to surrender to the top"

This appointment of the world series will be a quality test for the grand final in Chicago

On Sunday, the penultimate event of the 2015 World Series. There it arrives Javier Gómez Noya as leader after computing the 5 best results from the previous 8 appointments. In order to score points in the general, only the victory is worth it, given that he has 2 first places and 3 second. Therefore winning would discard one of the second places, adding the 60 points of difference between them (800 and 740).

Edmonton brings him good memories, as it hosted the final of the circuit in 2014. That day, the 3rd place was enough after Alistair Brownlee y Mario Mola to secure the world title. This time it will be about the Sprint distance and it will serve him above all as quality training against Chicago two weeks later: “the result is not the main objective but to yield to the top. Obviously I will win as always, but considering that I was two days in bed after Stockholm, the effort of the Half Ironman in Austria makes 5 days and the long journey can not be said to arrive in an ideal situation. Being distance Sprint is going to stop and sure Vincent Luis, Mario Mola and Richard Murray will be in the fight for victory".

Absent the Brownlee for injuries, the following in the general have very easy to score points: Mario Mola needs to improve an 8º; Vincent Luis is worth any result since he has only computed 4; and Murray improve an 5º.

The men's competition will start at 13.30:23 local -30: 10 in Spain- and it is presumed that it will be cold, between 15 and 750 degrees. The swim will be a 4m lap in a pond; cycling at 5 laps of 2km with just 3 hairpin bends in each one; and on foot 1.7 laps of 180km with turning points of XNUMXº in each one to personally check the differences.
