Javier Gómez Noya "I'm recovering sensations facing 2017"

Gómez Noya yesterday won the Rotorua Half Ironman victory, his first test of the season

Taking advantage of his stay in New Zealand, where he is doing the first phase of training for 2017, Javier Gómez Noya participated yesterday in a distance triathlon Half Ironman in Rotorua (about 200km south of the capital Auckland) where he got a clear victory. It was first of all a test to begin to remove the char after having to finish the 2016 season so unexpectedly just before the Olympics because of the fall in bicycle in Lugo.

Even without being very fit, he has dominated from the 2km swimming sector in the lake that gives the area its name: "It has been a good way to return to the official competition. The bike tour knew him and I felt very good, I have taken an average of 38km / h in the 90 kilometers. On the other hand I did not know the section on foot of 21 km and I was surprised by its hardness, on roads with a lot of unevenness.

I am very happy both for the result and for checking that I am already recovering feelings for 2017".

His time in goal was 4h09'59 ", which gives an idea of the hardness of the course, given that in triathlons of the same distance with flat courses the best tend to fall clearly from the 4 hours.

Second was Sam Clark (also 2º in 2015) with 4h24'25 and third Bobby Dean (5º in 2015 and 1º in 2014) with 4h22'29 ".
