Javier Gómez Noya returns to Hamburg after 9 weeks without competing

The 5 times World Champion resumes the competition in the Hamburg World Series

This Saturday 15 the 2017 World Series arrive at its equator (fifth of nine tests) in Hamburg, the date with the most tradition of the circuit since it is part of it from 2002 uninterruptedly.

It is therefore a triathlon with an added prestige, which It runs through the center of the city with thousands of spectators cheering and in which in addition to the elite competitions all kinds of sleeves are disputed in various distances for triathletes of all levels and ages. For the elite the distance was the Olympic between 2002 and 2011, becoming the Sprint (half) from 2012.

After a nine-week hiatus in which he missed the Leeds event, Javier Gómez Noya returns to the competition located in third place in the general classification after the Spaniards Alarza and Mola.

It will be the ninth time that Javier Gómez Noya compete in Hamburg, where he won the 2006 and 2010, as well as three second places, a third, a fourth and a sixth: "I really want to compete again.

"I have a period of much training focused on longer distances, hence a test so short I will come well to recover sensations of maximum intensity. In Sprint distance the result is less predictable than in the Olympic because the range of candidates opens up.

You have to be on top in swimming and pull to the top on a bike to avoid forming a large group".
