Kevin Tarek Viñuela and Sara Bonilla Spanish Champions of Triathlon Cros 2016

Triumphs for Kevin Tarek Viñuela and Sara Bonilla in the 2016 edition of the Spanish Cros Triathlon Championship held this Sunday, July 10 in the municipality of Almazán in an exciting second joranda of competitions in Soria.

 

In the men's event, Kevin Tarek Viñuela led the swimming sector, leaving the water in the lead along with Bruno Raso and Víctor Benages. The front trio has started the cycling segment with a good income. However, the leonine Viñuela has taken over the test by distancing himself from the rest and escaping alone to be the first to enter the T2. Bruno Raso and Camilo Puertas have entered the 39 seconds, in a great comeback from the Andalusian.

In the course of the two laps of the final third, the local triathlete has managed to measure the times very well, keeping his advantage to proclaim himself champion of Spain of the modality. For its part, Puertas has managed to advance to second place. In turn, Benages has made a splendid last stretch to go up to third place.

In females, Sara Bonilla has been the great dominator of the race from start to finish, cementing her victory with a magnificent first swim through the waters of the Douro. After the swim 1000 m Madrid has been routed to the T1 with a considerable advantage over the rest of competitors. After her, Chus Til, Pilar Sebastián, Natividad Gómez and Natalia Fischer were the next to conclude this first sector.

Immersed in the cycling tour the runner-up of 2015, has controlled very well during the 21,5 km, extending its income to arrive alone to the T2 with a margin close to three minutes over the second ranked Mercé Tusell. After the first 3 km of the race, Bonilla has remained in the lead, facing the second round with a good mattress that has allowed her to impose herself with comfort. This time the runner-up went to Mercé Tusell, who crossed the finish line almost four minutes from the winner. While Chus Til rounded the podium in third position.

Previously, in the female cadet competition Esther Gómez from Valladolid has come back in the final stretch of the race to win the victory. The second place was for Paula María Oliver and the bronze medal for Marina Muñoz. In boys, Sergio Baxter has taken the title of the category, with Nicolás Puertas hanging the silver and José Miguel Giménez completing the podium in third place.

Then the next to cross the finish line were the participants in the junior category, with a formidable Maria Rico repeating for the second consecutive day at the top of the podium with a comfortable victory. The runner-up has fallen to Lola Castellote, while Marina Castro has been awarded the bronze medal. In the men's event, the triumph was for José Ángel Hernández, followed by Alberto Roldán and Jordi Montraveta; second and third respectively.

For its part in paratriathlon, the victory in PT2 was for Jesús Miguel Sánchez Felipe, while José Antonio Abril won in PT3. Next to him, Jorge Orejón has signed the silver medal and Juan Luis de Andrés Muguruza rounded off the podium in third position. Rafa Solis has been imposed again in PT4, with Jesús Noriega entering second and Paco San Martín achieving third place. While Jorge Otalecu has risen with the win in PT7.
