The favorites for the Triathlon of Vitoria

The main candidates to take the final victory of the ninth edition of Triathlon Vitoria-Gasteiz in Half and Full distances have submitted their candidacy

Brooke Brown y Arrate Mintegui They will start with the aim of winning the full female category in the capital of Alava. A category where a lot of equality is expected and in which Canadian Brooke Brown, champion of the 2014 edition, will start as a favorite. Along with them will be their rivals the German Kathrin Walther, winner of the ICAN Gandía-Valencia last year; and the British Yvette Grice, third in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the 2013 edition.
 
In the male Half Jose Estrangeiro will be one of the main candidates for the final victory. They will also be among the favorites Jon Unanue y Egoitz Zalakain, who can offer a good show. In the Half feminine, the Rioja Esther Rodríguez, second last year, will try to win with the victory although there can always be surprises at the last minute.
 
In the presentation and questions from the official speaker of the Aitor Elduaien test, the triathletes have shown their previous feelings.
 
 
Alejandro Santamaría
 
This season the triathlete from Madrid has given priority to the race from Vitoria and has prepared it with care. "I arrive with the duties done to Vitoria and the objective will be to win" said Santamaría. About the weather forecast, he has no preferences, "whatever I do will be for everyone, and all I ask is that it does not rain. I would like to have a pleasant temperature. " Alejandro has added a phrase of real luxury for the organization: "Vitoria-Gasteiz is the real long-distance triathlon tour".
 
 
Pedro Gomes
 
There was no lack of humor in the words of the Portuguese, who has joked about the age of his main adversary. Pedro is, today, the main favorite of the test. "I'm sure Alejandro will make things difficult for me but this race is very important for me and I hope to be at my best level." Gomes has ensured that he is at a very good moment and will be, therefore, one of the main triathletes of the race.
 
Brooke Brown

After her 2014 victory, the Canadian returns with the goal of winning. "Last year I stayed flip with the race, its circuit and its public and I hope to make a better race than next year ". Brown has won this year in another Ironman, and has achieved good positions in the world championship and other races. He has assured that he is stronger than in previous seasons and, therefore, will be the main candidate for the final victory.
 
 
Arrate Mintegui

Gasteiztarra has been present at the press conference this afternoon and has assured that she would like to make a better race than last year, "although it will be difficult to be better than last year since I was third, but this year there will be much more competition". In swimming there will not be many differences said, "but the bicycle will make a difference". For Mintegui the best place to follow the test will undoubtedly be the streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
 
 
Jose Estrangeiro

The Portuguese will participate in the Half category, his third participation in the race of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Estrangeiro has said that he has competed since May practically every two weeks and that such a rhythm of competition has caused him back pains, "so I do not know how I'll go, I hope to be fine but it's an unknown."
 
At the press conference, two members of the Spanish Association for the fight against multiple sclerosis. Two of its members will participate in Sunday's race, and the race itself will fulfill its objective of collaborating with an association "that promotes incredible values".
