Mario Mola was the fastest in the 2015 WTS on foot with 28: 59 in the 10 km and with 13: 55 in the 5 km

En Triathlon News we have done a detailed study of all the WTS with the best times in each of the three disciplines (swimming, cycling and running) as well as the final time of each competition to get the fastest segments and triathlons.

Olympic Distance

In the distance "queen", the Olympic distance the fastest triathlon both in the final time and in the three segments has been the Grand Final of the Chicago WTS. In men the Slovak Richard Varga covered the 1500m of swimming in 16'18 '' to 1'05 '' the 100m, the best in cycling was the Brazilian Reinaldo Colucci with a time of 56'20 '' it flew in the 40km to an average of 42'6km / h Mario Mola it was the best in the 10k on foot, with 28'59 '' to 2'53 '' the average km. Finally, Mario Mola's final time was 1h44'53 ''.

In women it was also the Chicago competition where the best times were obtained in the 3 segments and the final time. The American Katie Zafares was the best in swimming with 17'50 '' (to 1'11 '' the 100), meanwhile the British Jodie Stimpson made a time of 1h2'25 '' in the 40 km of cycling, to almost 39km / h and in the 10.000 final of the foot race the world champion Gwen Jorgensen it came down clearly from 33 '(32'43' ') and completed the final 10k at an average of 3'16' 'km. And finally his total time was 1h55'36 ''

We must emphasize that being the final of the WTS was the most important competition of the year where the world titles were decided so the best and best competed caused the best times to take place.

Fun facts

When performing the analysis of all the WTS we have obtained several conclusions and curiosities.

Of the 20 WTS (10 men and 10 women) in 13 of them the best time in the running race is who gets the final victory.

Never the best swimmer has won a WTS

In 6 WTS the winner has not been the best in any of the 3 segments

In the WTS of Yokohama Javier Gómez Noya won the race for being the best in the T2 (it was 3 '' fastest of Alistair) while in the running race Alistair ran 2 '' better than Javi.

Javier Gómez Noya achieving his 5th world title

Only once has the best time in cycling been the final winner of a WTS, this was done by Frenchman Vicent Luis at the WTS in Hamburg

The world champion Gwen Jorgensen has been the winner of all the WTS that has played in 2015 being also the best runner in all of them.

World champion Javier Gómez Noya has played 9WTS, which total 27 segments ... and has only been the best in two of them, the Cape Town swimming and the Stockholm foot race

(Note: At the time of the final time we did not count the WTS of Cape Town that had to cut the swim to 750m.We must also mention that the circuits are not homologated so the distances can not be said to be exact to the 100 %)
