The current Triathlon World Champion has revalidated his victory last year in the race where the quality of the Spanish triathlon has been demonstrated with 3 men in the 4 first places.

After the women's event where the victory was for Andrea Hewitt , it was the turn of the men's event where we had the full Spanish with the presence of Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola, Fernando Alarza y Vicente Hernández. The fight was assured with the presence of the South African Richard Murray, winner this year of two World Cups and the Super League Triathlon.

The test that was disputed on distance sprint, promised a speed of vertigo and emotion until the end with the presence of the fastest triathletes of the specialty.

The race started at 8: 00 AM Spanish time, starting with the 750 m swim where the fastest was Henry Shcoeman, followed closely by a group where Javier Gómez Noya was. Richard Murray, Vicente Hernandez, Fernando Alarza and Mario Mola came out more than 25 '.

During the 20 km of cycling sector, a group of 5 was formed in the lead with Gómez Noya and Shcoeman. After several kilometers the pursuer group where they were Murray, Mola, Alarza and Chente gave chase. The South African Ryan Fisher attacked in the last lap to arrive the T2 with 15 seconds of advantage on the group of the favorites with Noya, Murray, Mola, Alarza and Vicente Hernandez.

Once the shoes were put on, the leading group was formed with Fernando Alarza, Noya, Mola and Murray and Jacob Birtwhistle. The Australian Birtwhistle was left off the hook, leaving the group of the "triarmada" against Murray to fight for the final victory.

In the last kilometers we could see a spectacular duel between Mario Mola y Richard Murray for the victory where finally the Mallorcan got the final victory in a time of 52: 35 followed by Richard Murray to 4 seconds. Fernando Alarza - 52:44  it was third and Javier Gómez Noya - 52:51 fourth
