The third best partial in the running race served to Mario Mola to fight until the last moment in the penultimate of the World Series of this season.

Each one of the triathletes will count their five best results of the year in the face of the World Cup definition, and for this reason, despite the difficulty of the Stockholm circuit, which does not adapt well to its technical characteristics, Mario did not want to miss this test. with the aim of improving the eighth place achieved in Cape Town, and which is its fifth best result.

His first place in Abu Dhabi, in the first of the World Series of the season, his second place in Gold Coast, and his two thirds places in Yokohama and Hamburg, are so far the best bastions that have led him to the second place in the international ranking

On Sunday afternoon, Mola and the rest of the competitors faced a tough swimming segment, divided into two parts, in which they had to face the breeze from the Baltic Sea that caused some waves. This meant that in this sector, which is the one in which it suffers the most, it had greater wear than usual, which also left it in a second group of the bicycle circuit that throughout the 40 kilometers was yielding time compared to the first , where were some of today's big favorites.

Finally, Mola started the race on foot with 1'20 "of disadvantage with respect to the first triathletes that left the second transition, being out of the 20 at the first positions, his fight from that moment was to try to advance to the maximum number of possible rivals making use of his excellent run on foot, and finally, with the third best partial in this last sector, he crossed the finish line in 12ª position, to 1'46 "of the winner, who was the Spaniard Javier Gómez Noya .

"I knew it was a difficult test for me but I'm in a good shape and I did not want to miss the opportunity to compete here as well. It has been a tough race that has not gone as expected to improve my eighth place, something I hope to get in Edmonton in order to get better positioned for the Grand Final where everything will be decided", commented at the end.

Mario plans to compete in the two World Series that will close the calendar: the one in Edmonton (Canada) the 6 in September; and the great final of Chicago the September 19.
