Mario Mola receives the silver medal of the 2016 Sports Merit

On Tuesday November 15 will be awarded the medals and plates of the Royal Order of Sports Merit where the 2016 Triathlon World Champion will receive the silver medal.

The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports and Government Spokesperson, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, will preside on November 15 the act of delivery of the medals and plaques of the Royal Order of Sports Merit 2016, in which part of the medalists and participants in the Rio Games will be distinguished

This ceremony will recognize the merits of all the Olympic and Paralympic medalists of the Rio 2016 Games, as well as the contribution of the companies that have participated in the ADO and ADOP programs in this Olympic cycle.

The distinctions of the Royal Order of Sports Merit in its different categories, Gold, Silver and Bronze Plaques and Medals, are awarded to individuals or entities in recognition of their sporting successes or their contribution to the development of Spanish sport.

Among the sportsmen who will receive the gold medal are Olympic champions like Carolina Marín (badminton), Maialen Chourraut, Cristian Toro y Marcus Cooper (canoeing) and Marc López (tennis) among others.
