Mario Mola on his way to the Triathlon World Championship

If he gets two second places in the last two races, Mario Mola will become the Triathlon World Champion.

 

After the victory in the last meeting in Hamburg, Mario Mola He won his eighth World Series victory, since debuting on the 2009 circuit.

Although Mario missed the last two rounds of the circuit, in Leeds and Stockholm, several returned to compete in Hamburg showing that he is very strong ahead of the Olympic Games and achieved his fourth victory this season. Only Alistair Brownlee He has been the only triathlete who has won 5 events in the same season, so he could surpass him if he wins the last two tests on the circuit.

This last victory has placed Mario as leader of the ranking with more than 400 points of advantage over Fernando Alarza.

Now, the objective is the Olympic river games, but he has been assured that he will participate as leader of the world ranking in the Grand Final of Cozumel in September, regardless of his result in Edmonton, the penultimate event of the circuit.

 If he gets two second places in the last two races, Mari or Mola will become the Triathlon World Champion.

Meanwhile Fernando Alarza,  with the third place in Hamburg, he has achieved his third podium of the 2016 and has always managed to finish among the first 5. This guarantees you that you will start in a good position to get placed on the podium of the world ranking.

The next round of the World Series will be the September 4 in Edmonton (Canada), but the Olympic Games in Rio will be played in the 18 and 20 in August.
