Mavi García and Soren Bystrup win the Powerman Mallorca Classic duathlon

This test had been selected as a Balearic Championship for Middle and Long Distance, which is why García and Fidalgo have been proclaimed champions.

 

Mavi García y Soren Bystrup, in the Classic test, and Roger Serrano y Tine Holst in the Sprint they have proclaimed themselves winners of the Powerman Mallorca 2016 played in Can Picafort and in which elite duathletes participated in the international and Spanish circuit.

In the Classic event (10 km of race, 60 km of bicycle and 10 km of race) 135 athletes participated, of which the Danish Soren Bystrup took the men's podium, first with a time of 2:32:56; Belgian Kenneth Vandendriessche, second, and Spaniard Miguel Ángel Fidalgo, third. The women's podium was starred by the Spanish Mavi García, first with a time of 2:53:52, the Danish Susanne Svendsen, second, and the Swiss Monique Grossrieder.

In the race Sprint (5 km race, 30 km of bike and 5 km of race) disputed in the afternoon have participated 166 athletes. The winners were Spanish Roger Serrano (1: 19: 09) - followed by Miguel Fernández Miniño and Toumi Dahmani. In females, the Danish Tine Holst (1: 28: 37) was the first classified, followed by Lesley Smit and Laura Gómez.

Approximately 65 percent of those registered were Spanish and the rest of other countries, mainly European and above all Swiss, Dutch, British, German, Danish and French.

With the organization of this event, Spain has joined the Powerman circuit, which currently has events in the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany and a world championship in Zofingen-Switzerland.

The Powerman Mallorca event is an official event and is part of the 2016 events calendar of the Triathlon Federations. The Powerman brand belongs to and is managed by the International Powerman Association (IPA).
