Mechán and Maruny win the Triathlon Puerto de Sevilla

One of the days with the greatest number of visitors at the Delicias Muelle of the Port of Seville and Torre del Oro.

The Seville Jose Mª Merchán the victory in the Triathlon Port of Seville, seventh test of the circuit Santander Triathlon Series, in the Olympic distance.

The sixth edition of the Puerto de Sevilla Triathlon has been a success both for participation and for the public. The 10h25 was the exit in the Muelle de las Delicias to more than a thousand participants in the different modalities.

Jose Mª Merchán, ADSevilla was the first to leave the waters of the Guadalquivir River with total authority over David Callejón, Isbilya Sloppy Joes and Antonio Torres, of The Total Training Melilla. On the bike, Merchán alone continued to maintain distance with his rivals by running down to almost 1 minute on David and Antonio. The last 10km of foot race would mark the final podium for merchán stopping the chrono in 1h54'17'', the second position for David Callejón in 1h59'01'' and third for Antonio Torres in 1h59'13''.

In the female category, the victory has been for Ana Belén Maruny of DOC 2001, with total authority over its persecutors, with a time of 2h20'04'', ahead of Virginia Vilches of the Entrena Trijuansa and Mª del Carmen Pineda, of the Isbilya Sloppy Joes.

In the sprint distance, the first to cross in the men's category the goal has been Sergio Ortiz Velasco of the CT Califas de Hierro, with a time of 01: 06: 53. With advantage 2'37'' arrived Lorenzo Pérez Perea, from CT Chameleon and with 1: 09: 47 came third Álvaro Martín Ruíz, of The Total Training Melilla.

In the female category victory has taken her Sandra Schenkel of the Marmotta Triathlon Tribe of Belgium, ahead of Lidia Gálvez Serrano of the Puente Genil Triathlon CD and Cristina Mollinedo Gajate from CT Las Rozas.

The last exit, at 12h30, bears the names of the winners Luis Manuel Verdugo Carrero de La Pechá, second for Pablo González Pérez of the ADSevilla and in third position Francisco Jesús Sánchez Humanes, from CD Ohmio Arahal. In the female category the victory would be for Diana Rubio Contreras, of the ADSevilla, being second Laura Muñoz Jiménez, from CA La Pechá and third position for Nicola Ball, from Castelldefels.

In addition to the olympic, sprint and super sprint, the Triathlon Port of Seville has offered proposals for all types of participants, such as relays or triathlon by pairs in order to further increase the offer of triathlon in Seville, with a 17% of female participation or with a 40,4% of athletes from outside the province of Seville the success has been resounding.

After the Seville test, the circuit will travel in a month to Getxo, finishing the 20 in October in Madrid.
