Miguel Ángel Fidalgo and María Pujol dispute the ITU World Cup in the United States

Next Sunday 25 of September in Oklahoma (United States) is competing a new edition of the ITU Long Distance World Championship, under its characteristic distances: 4km of swimming, 120km of cycling and 30km of running.

The closeness in the calendar with the Ironman World Cup in Hawaii has not prevented some great long distance figures from betting on the ITU World Cup, such as the Italians Molinari and Casadei, the Czech Ospaldy or the triple world champion of Iromman Craig Alexander. the Swiss Steffen in the female category.

The Spanish representation will be in charge of the Balearic Miguel Ángel Fidalgo and from the Andalusian María Pujol, both are the current champions of Spain of Media Distancia, a requirement demanded this year by the FETRI to compete in the global LD.

In the men's category, the main favorite that starts with the 1 number with the best ITU LD ranking is the Russian Yaroshenko, but as we have mentioned in the introduction, there are great triathletes like the Italians Molinari y Casadei, French Sylvain Sundrie or the veterans Filip Ospaldy, Craig Alexander or Matt Chrabot.

As regards the female category there are also several international figures, such as the Caroline Steffen who a few weeks ago was 5ª in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship or the British Jodei Swallow, world champion of Ironman 70.3 in 2010 and bronze in 2014.

The competition will start on Sunday at the 7: 30 local time in Oklahoma, the 14: 30 Spanish time.
