Miquel Blanchart and Saleta Castro among the Ironman favorites of Lanzarote

Saturday 23 May will be the departure to the 24th edition of Ironman Lanzarote, one of the most important in the world and listed as the toughest in the franchise.

 

 

Near 2.000 participants will tour the 3,8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42 km of running on foot in Puerto del Carmen.

Among the elites we can see Miquel Blanchart, runner-up in the last edition, and this year will try to climb to the top of the drawer, although triathletes of the likes of Stephen Bayliss,  Will ClarkeKonstantin Bachor o Christian Kramer among others they will fight and try to win the test.

In the female category, Saleta Castro, third in 2013 and fifth in 2014, will try to get back on the podium, although he will face Eimear Mullan,  Nicole Woysch  and Amy Forshaw among others.

This test offers 40 slots or seats for the Hawaii IRONMAN World Championship 2015 Participants in age group, so it is ideal to qualify for Hawaii in almost identical conditions to which athletes will compete in this test opportunity.
