The American adventure of Miriam Casillas

Miriam Casillas has gone to the United States to train with the well-known #TheTriathlonSquad, a training group led by coach Paulo Sousa, which includes triathletes from several countries.

Extremadura Miriam Casillas is an elite triathlete and until now his life has been halfway between triathlon and medical career. Once finished the university studies Now it's time to focus on sport. For this, he has gone to the United States to train with the well-known #TheTriathlonSquad, a training group led by coach Paulo Sousa of which triathletes from various countries are part.

The winter base is in the Californian town of Carlsbad, where they will work until the summer. Later they can be seen training in Banyolas (Catalonia) and its surroundings.

"For the 2018 season I have made great changes in my sporting life and, consequently, in my life in general", are the words of the athlete from Palencia about her change of residence.

Once finished medicine studies Extremadura seeks to be a better triathlete and get the most out of it. "After a complicated year for me and taking into account that I have finished my studies in Medicine I am looking to be a better triathlete every day and get my maximum performance, in this group and with this coach I found the right person to guide me and people who share my same way of seeing and living the sport"

Although he is still acclimating to his new life, he is far from home, in a different environment, with different schedules and routines and affirms that it is "24 hours triathlete and the rest revolves around this".

 About life in the United States your first impression has been good, with things that have exceeded your expectations.

"What has surprised me so far has been the time to make the purchase, the 'American size' or how to go buy rice and only find packages of 11 kilos ", explained the triathlete from Palencia.

Regarding the working group is surprised to go to dinner at the 17: 30 or 18 hours in the afternoon and lie on the 21 hours but says it is adapting "very well".
