Miriam Casillas ninth in the Triathlon World Cup in Huatulco

Miriam continues to add valuable points for the Olympic qualification

 

Great role of Miriam Casillas in the Triathlon World Cup played this early morning in Spain Huatulco located the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The Spanish has finished a good performance in the top-10 of the final classification.

The final 10 km were missing from a very open foot race, in which Annen, Rabie and the Polish Agnieszka Jerzyk were at the front of the race. Fourth, and stalking the positions of the podium, appeared the Ukrainian Yuliya Yelistratova, who managed to overcome more than half a minute of disadvantage after suffering a puncture in the final laps of the cycling segment.

The triathletes struggled with the accumulated fatigue of an arduous cycling sector, high temperatures and humidity that made these last four laps of the race difficult. Casillas remained outstanding in eighth position, fighting in this final section in another great staging of the triathlete from Palencia.

Finally Annen and Jerzyk distanced themselves in the lead, with the Swiss separating solo entries in the last 2,5 km. Victory for Jolanda Annen concluding in 2: 14: 06. The podium was completed Jerzyk y Yelistratova; second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, Miriam Casillas finished in a remarkable ninth place, continuing the outstanding work she has been doing throughout the current season and accumulating valuable points that bring her closer and closer to achieving the dream of the Olympics. of Rio 2016.
