Previous Spanish Long Distance Triathlon Championship (Ibiza)

Next Saturday 23 of October celebrates a new edition of the Spanish Long Distance Championship with its typical distance "C" triathlon format of 4km of swimming, 120 of cycling and 30 of running race. As it has been traditional, it will be the last national title of the FETRI calendar this season.

The competition will start from the beach of Ses Figueretes in Ibiza, with one of the most spectacular swimming events of the Spanish calendar, the triathletes will swim in a circuit of 2km surrounding the Island of Ses Rates, which they will take two laps to complete the 4km. Later, the cycling sector takes place in the interior of the Island of Ibiza, where 2 will take turns on a hard circuit of 60km dotted with short and hard slopes. Finally, the foot race consists of 3 turns of 10km that run between the beach of Ses Figueretes, the center of Ibiza and the marina. 

In the male category they will participate Gustavo Rodríguez, current champion of Spain will try to revalidate the title, the rest of the favorites are Miguel Ángel Fidalgo, Angel Salamanca, Joan Nadal and Pello Osoro. As well you have to take into account the debutants Emilio Aguayo y Pablo Dapena (This last one already made debut in LD in the world-wide one of Canada but it could not finish the competition). Finally, to quote the great José Luis Cano who is on the elite starting list being a VET II.

As far as the women's category is concerned, a very equal competition is expected, with the current champion of Spain Dolça Ollé defended the title, the winner of Valencia 113 Anna Noguera and the champion of Spain MD 2016 Maria Pujol as the three favorites to the title. Another candidate to fight for the first positions is the Basque Helene Alberdi that already last year had a great performance in Ibiza and will also have to take into account the Valencian Cristina Roselló that debuts in the distance.

The men will be the first to take the exit to the 8: 00 in the morning, 2 'later the women will do it and then all the age groups.
