Previous IV Iberman LD and III Iberman MD

Next Saturday's 16 in October will be held a new edition of the Iberman triathlon, the only one held between two countries (Spain and Portugal) in both long distance and medium distance modes

The Huelva town of Ayamonte, next to the mouth of the Guadiana River, will prepare to host a new edition of the Iberman Triathlon. The long distance mode will have 3,8 km of swimming, 180km of cycling and 42,2 of running, while the average will be just half (1,9-90-21,1)

The MD test will start the 8: 15 while the LD test will start 15 'later. The swimming of both races will take place at the Punta del Moral Beach in Ayamonte. As regards the Iberman LD Cycling runs along the banks of the Guadiana River, arriving in the Spanish part to the municipality of El Granado to later go to Portugal where the triathletes pedaled through the municipalities of Mertola, Acouitim, Castro Marim to reach the town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio where the T2 will be located.

There they will start the race on foot to return to Ayamonte but this time crossing the Gaudiana through the International Bridge joining element of both countries and one of the main attractions of this cross-border test. The goal will be located in the Plaza de España de Ayamonte.

In the female category, the main favorite is Mª Jesús Sierra, the best Spanish in the Ironman GDN World Ranking 2015, also opt to win Susana Cordero (3ª in the Iberman LD'15) and Esther Córdoba As far as men's competition is concerned. In the male category, they stand out Mario Santos, Enric Rigau and Leopoldo Pavón, the three top20 in last year's edition.

For his part, Iberman MD will be developed entirely by Spanish territory, cycling will be one lap, 45km one way to Villanueva de los Castillejos 45km back to Ayamonte, where the foot race will start which will be along the promenade and the bike lane of the beaches of Isla Canela and the back of Lope de Vega street to finish the 21km in the Plaza de España.

More than 350 triathletes will meet in this very peculiar triathlon, with previous participants from different countries of Europe being the Portuguese and Spanish those who will have greater presence. The competition will be organized by the CD Iberman and Anterreventos, with the collaboration of the Hon. City council of Ayamonte and numerous groups of the municipality.
