David Plese and Yvonne Van Vlerken win the IRONMAN Barcelona

In this edition of the IRONMAN Barcelona they have participated around 2600 athletes from more than 60 countries.

 

David Plese has been the first triathlete to cross the finish line in this second edition of the IRONMAN Barcelona disputed today in the town of Calella (Barcelona). The Slovenian has passed the test with a time of 8 hours, 2 minutes and 20 seconds, completing the 3,8 kilometers of swimming, 180 of the bike and the 42,2 of the final marathon and beating the previous record of Clemente Alonso in 2014.

 The Ukrainian came in behind Plese Anton Blokhin, who was in the top positions throughout the race and, after a solid marathon, finished the race in 8 hours, 5 minutes and 50 seconds. The German finished on the podium Per Bittner, with a time of 8 hours, 6 minutes and 23 seconds.

Xavier Torrades He was the first local triathlete to finish the race, Manresa won the 10 position with an excellent final marathon. Seconds behind entered in eleventh position Josep Vinyoles.

 In the female category the victory was for the Dutch Yvonne Van Vlerken with a time of 8 hours 46 minutes and 44 seconds. Second has been the Finnish Kaisa Lehtonen with only two minutes of disadvantage. The third place went to the Austrian Elisabeth Gruber with a final time of 8 hours, 54 minutes and 3 seconds.
