Mario Mola second in the Super League Triathlon

Today it was the turn of the Eliminator, a thrilling test consisting of 3 rounds of Swimming (300m), Cycling (6km), Race (2km) with 10 minutes of rest between each of them.

These 10 minutes started when the winner of each series entered the finish line, which meant that the rest had less recovery time. In each round that passed the last triathletes were being eliminated (1º round 15 classified, 2º round 10 classified 3º final round). 23 athletes took the start where Alistair Brownlee He has not participated since he was not well.

1º round Swimming (300m), Cycling (6km), Race (2km)

In this first round everything was very close, where the first 15 were classified.

In this second round he was noticing the demanding rhythm of the test where everyone struggled to enter among the first 10 that would pass to the final round.

3º round Swimming (300m), Cycling (6km), Race (2km)

In the exciting final round Javier Gómez Noya came out a little behind in the water, so he had to make a big effort in the cycling segment to reach the group. Ryan Fisher I make a strong attack in the final part of the bike segment where I managed to reach the transition with 16 seconds ahead of the rest of the group

In the race on foot a group of fourth with Murray and Mola went in search of Fisher, Noya accused the effort of the bike and was left hanging.

A great Richard Murray imposed a strong rhythm along with Jake Birtwhistle and Mario Mola that served him to catch Fisher. Birtwhistle attacked in the final part getting off Mola and Murrray. Finally. Jake Birtwhistle got the victory in the 3º test followed by Mario Mola to 5 seconds and Richard Murray and 13.

General ranking

Regarding the general classification, the first classified has been Richard Murray with 56 points followed by Mario Mola with 49 and by Jake Birtwhistle in third position with 48. Javier Gómez Noya finished fourth with 40 points

As for the prizes of the first classified Richard Murray has bagged 100.000 dollars, Mario Mola 50.000 and the third classified Birtwhistle 30.000.
