Ricardo Abad can achieve today the challenge of completing 100 Ironman in one year

The ultra-distance triathlete finished his 99 Ironman yesterday in a year and today he will try to cover the 22.600 km of his challenge

 

 

Today the 44-year-old athlete from Tafall will try to meet his goal of completing 100 Ironman in one year. The adventure began on January 4, 2015 and throughout the past year tests have been completed to arrive today in Pamplona to try to break this record. Ricardo finished his 99th Ironman yesterday with a time of 12 hours and 14 minutes in the city of Cintruénigo (Navarra) 

An Ironman consists of 3,8 km of swimming followed by 180 km of bike and 42 km of running race

Ricardo already achieved in 2012 the Guinness Record for running 500 marathons in 500 days, in 2013 he completed 52 IronMan and last December he managed to run 24 consecutive hours on a gym machine treadmill.
