Saleta Castro prepares the Malaysian IROMAN at Club la Santa

The Ironman Malaysia will be held next November 14

 

 

A few weeks ago, Saleta Castro became an ambassador for Club Santa, organizer of IRONMAN Lanzarote and IRONMAN 70.3, where Saleta Castro I got a great 3 position. We talked with her about how that competition was, how it feels in the Santa Club and its upcoming objectives.

- Several weeks have passed since your podium at IM 70.3 in Lanzarote, where you became the first Spanish to do podium in both IM and IM 70.3 in "La Isla". How was the competition?

Yes, the truth that made me very excited. The competition came out much better than I expected. I knew it was fine but not at 100%. I ran as they sent me concentrated all the time in making my career and in the end the thing went very well.

- You have been living and training for several weeks in the La Santa Club. How has the management and the Club's employees received you?

They took me as ambassador just the week of 70.3 and for me it was great news. From the first moment they gave me all the facilities to feel at home and be able to train at the highest level.

- What facilities does Club La Santa offer you for training?

The Club La Santa is the ideal place to do a specific preparation as well as to do preseason. It has 3 50m pools discovered, running track, tennis courts, golf course, gym, medical services, completely new apartments with all amenities, among many more services.

Also not only has sports facilities but there are daily activities for children and parents organized by the Green Team (entertainment team) that are throughout the hotel, it is impossible to get bored here.

- You have also changed trainer, now you are working with Luc Van Lierde, first European champion of the world in Kona. How are the trainings with Luc? In addition to him, do you train with more triathletes?

For me working with Luc is something that makes me very excited. It is impossible not to be motivated by having a coach like him. At the moment I train alone or with some friends of the island. I have my training and I go out and do not need anyone else.

- And now to close the season, you will play the IM of Malaysia. How are you preparing this competition?

Yes, in a fair month it is the IRONMAN of Malaysia. I am preparing it in the Club La Santa and the most important thing is that I am very motivated and eager. The workouts are going very well but there are still two weeks very hard and you will see.

- It's still a bit early but ... in the face of 2016 Can you give us a clue about how you think you're going to focus the season? If I'm not mistaken, a competition is fixed ... IM LZ

I hope so, it is Lanzarote but next year we will try to qualify for Hawaii and everything will depend on how the points go. It would be my 5º IRONMAN of Lanzarote consecutive, I would be very sorry not to be on the starting line.
