Samer Ali-Saad wins the Seville Triathlon for the eighth time

It is the eighth victory of the Sloppy Joe's-Isbilya triathlete in this event.

The XIX BMW San Pablo Motor - Seville Triathlon, second test of the Europa FM Circuit, already has an owner. And he's an old acquaintance of this competition, Samer Ali-Saad. The Seville returns to the path of victory, after surrender last year the Olympic triumph in London'12 Josemi Pérez.

The triathlete of the Sloppy Joe's-Isbilya had to overcome a disadvantage when leaving the Guadalquivir River, after swimming 1500 meters. There he was almost half a minute from the first to finish the swim section, the Germán Rodríguez from Cádiz. It was in the bicycle sector where Samer squeezed, to hook up with the leading group. In the second transition I was already stuck to the leader of the race, who was still Rodriguez. The last stage, 10 kilometers of running, served to show that Samer is still intractable when he puts on his shoes. And he entered the finish line with a time of 1h50'12 '', with something more than a minute and a half of advantage over Germán Rodríguez. The podium was completed by the Sevillian Pedro Lumbreras.

For Samer Ali-Saad it is his eighth victory in this event, which shows that he is the clear dominator in front of his audience: "Winning here is very special. Despite having won so many times one does not get tired of doing it. I have been controlling a bit, I have not managed to start until the race on foot, where I have opened a little gas to win. Winning 10 times here is a goal that I have, and it would be nice when I'm a grandpa telling my grandchildren. " The merit of Samer is even greater if we consider that yesterday competed with his club in the Copa del Rey in Oropesa del Mar, having to do more than 6 hours back and sleep just 5 hours before getting the triathlon suit this morning.

In the women's category, the triumph was also won by a triathlete from the Sloppy Joe's-Isbilya club, Rocío Molas. She was third last year at the Triathlon of Seville, as well as winner of the Andalusian triathlon circuit 14 and the Duathlon of Seville last March, on the same stage as the Alamillo Park where the finish line was located today. He raised his arms with a time of 2h06'48 '', almost two minutes ahead of Ana Ruz and 7 of María Rojo. "I've always been in second place, just under a minute from the leader until the end of the second transition. But I punctured in the second round. I gave it up for lost, and I had to give everything to hook the race head. Running I felt pretty good and I managed to cut back. We have started the season well, I can not complain. It has been a hard test, suffered, and the mood of the large number of people who have been during the tour are very much appreciated. "

The next triathlon event in the city will be the next 30 in May with the celebration of the Half Triathlon of Seville.
