Sara Pérez, Inés Santiago and Anna Godoy compete in the legendary Tiszaujvaros World Cup in Hungary

The Tiszaujvaros World Cup maintains the format of the last editions of the semifinals and finals, with three masculine and two feminine semifinals. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, while the finals will be played on Sunday.

This weekend the XXI edition of the World Cup Tiszaujvaros in Hungary. The first competition was held in 1997 with the presence of Maribel Blanco and Eneko Llanos. This weekend the Spanish representation will be in charge of Sara Perez, Inés Santiago y Anna Godoy. All three know what it is to get on a podium in ITU competition.  

Female career

Sara Perez will be the only Spanish in the first semifinal with 27 triathletes who will take the exit to swim three laps in a circuit of 250m until completing the 750 and then pedaling during 20km of cycling. The 5km stretch of running is fast and flat like cycling. As usual, the whole city will come out to cheer the athletes on their journey

As for the favorites, the American Renee Tomlin, the Russian Elena Danilova and the Mexican Vanesa de la Torre they are the favorites to go to the final.

 In the second semifinal they will be Inés Santiago y Anna Godoy. In this race the favorites are the Russian Anastasia Abrosimova, the American Erin Dola and estonia Kaidi Kivioja

The best 14 athletes in each semifinal will go to the final that will be played on Sunday and there will be two other places awarded to the next two best results.

Male career

There will be no Spanish representation in this competition, the top favorites to qualify for the final and win it are Russian Dmitry Polyanskiy, Jonas Schomburg, the Italian Alessandro Fabian and the Canadian Matthew Sharpe.

 Opening hours:

  • The ITU Tiszaujavros 2017 World Cup begins with the first female 15 Elite semifinal: 32pm (local time) on Saturday's 22 in July.
  • The second women's semifinal starts at 15: 54 pm (local time).
  • The first masculine semifinal will be to the 16: 21 (local time), and the following will do each 20 minutes.
  • The finals will take place on Sunday 23, women at 15: 45 and men at 17: 10
