Presented the venues of the 2018 Spain Championships

After the meeting of the Board of Directors and the Delegate Committee of Fetri last Friday, the calendar of competitions for the 2018 season was presented, with the incorporation of the cities of Seville and La Coruña.

Dates will be confirmed once the international calendar is approved, and will be made public below. And the venues of the rest of the Championships that are still to be assigned will be communicated (of Half Distance Duathlon, Half Distance Triathlon, Relays / Couples, SuperSprint by Clubs and Autonomies / School Age) as soon as possible.

The first of the Spanish championships to be played will be the one of Winter triathlon, in a venue that has already hosted this year a test of the Spanish Winter Triathlon Cup and that ensures more favorable weather conditions for the development of the race.

Next, we have Boiro, which welcomes Spanish Duathlon Championship by clubs, as it happened in 2016, and that will also include as a novelty the inclusion of the Spanish Relay Duathlon Championship.

Avilés and Soria also repeat as venues of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, and after having hosted in the last two seasons the dispute of a World Cup and a European respectively, this year they will organize the Duathlon Spain Championships Elite, Cadet, Junior, Age Groups and Paratriathlon (Avilés) and Team Time Trial y Relays (Soria) Being two of the iconic venues within our federation and as far as duathlon is concerned.

Águilas is one of the historic venues of the Spanish Triathlon Federation and always a guarantee of success, and at 2018 it will host the Spanish Sprint and Acuatlon Triathlon Championship. Surely we will live an unforgettable weekend in Murcia.

El Spanish Long Distance Championship will be played at 2018 in Pontevedra, in what we could call a test test for the organization of the Multideporte World Championship in this same venue in 2019.

In the same way that we talked about Eagles, Banyoles is another of the historical venues for the national triathlon, hosting competitions for many years. In 2018 the town of Girona will host the dispute for the first time Copa del Rey and de la Reina, and Spanish Triathlon Championships by relays, two tests of the highest national level.

One of the modalities that more followers are receiving is the one of the competitions with the mountain bike. Next season, the Spanish Triathlon and Duathlon Cros Championships will repeat the 2016 headquarters, Almazán.

Finally, we would like to highlight the arrival of two of the most important cities in Spain, such as A Coruña and Seville to the field of Fetri. A Coruña, thanks to the work of the FETRI, the FEGATRI and the city council, faces the challenge of taking our sport to the city center, organizing the star test of our calendar, as is the Spanish Triathlon Championship in Olympic distance. Locating the neuralgic center of the competition in the vicinity of the emblematic Plaza de María Pita.

Finally, Sevilla again organize an event with the Spanish Triathlon Federation almost 17 years later, since the last competition dates from 2001 when the European Cup was played there. A long-awaited return that will serve to welcome Spanish Triathlon Championships by Clubs and Mixed Relay.
