3.000 triathletes open the ŠKODA Triathlon Series circuit in Madrid

All set to kick off the 2015 season of the ŠKODA Triathlon Series. The circuit, which will travel 10 cities until next October, will be premiered this weekend, 27 and 28 in June, with the Triathlon Villa de Madrid.

The event, which takes place in the Casa de Campo, will gather around 3.000 enrolled in a test designed to encourage participatory sports. Three distances are played on Saturday: Supersprint (350 m swimming / 7,7 km cycling / 2,5 km race on foot), Sprint (750 m swimming / 23 km cycling / 5 km race on foot) and Olympic (1.500 m swimming / 38,5 km cycling / 10 km race on foot); while on Sunday the Half (1.900 m swimming / 80 km cycling / 20 km race on foot) and the Short (1.000 m swimming / 40 km cycling / 10 km race on foot) are the protagonists.

Best Buddies Challenge

The Best Buddies Foundation will be at the Triathlon Villa de Madrid, where it will compete with a large delegation of athletes with and without intellectual capacity who compete in pairs in distance supersprint.

The objective is to raise funds for the programs of the Best Buddies Foundation through the page of through crowdfunding solidary Migranodearena.org. Two BTT bicycles will be delivered to the couple that receives the most donations and two other folding bikes to the second. 

The Best Buddies Foundation fosters social inclusion through the creation of one-on-one friendship links between volunteers and people with intellectual disabilities. This challenge reflects the values ​​that the foundation seeks to promote with its programs: effort, improvement, humility, leadership and perseverance, in this case, linked to the world of sports.
