Super triathlete moms (chapter 2)

The second installment of our super moms section arrives

Today we present the second chapter of "Super Moms Triathletes", as we discussed in the previous chapter. All of them have been practicing triathlon for several years, combining it with their work and family life.

The questions that we have asked them are about a presentation of each one of them, as were their beginnings in triathlon, their favorite competitions, how to combine family and work life with training and competitions, to end giving us some advice for all women and Moms who want to start practicing triathlon.

LUISINA VILETTO (ARGENTINA)

LUISINA VILETTO (ARGENTINA)

Luisina Viletto I am 36 years old, I am a public accountant and I live in Rosario (Santa Fe - Argentina), I have two daughters of 7 and 10 years.

I started in the 2011 to run, then I loved swimming (sport I did when I was little), I said I want to run a triathlon, and in November of the 2011 I ran my first short. Then a couple more shorts, some Olympian, and then I made half a distance.

I get up at the 6 in the morning every day, I prepare my daughters to go to school and then I do my first training shift. From there to work 5 hours in a fixed place. Then I take my daughters to their sports and / or activities. Some days I bike there and other days I go to another place of work. At night I look for my daughters and the days that I did not do a bike, I run after I have the girls at home, then see the tasks, prepare the food for the night. I coordinate work and routines for the day that follows, nothing can fail, because I have everything timed and organized hour by hour of my day.

The most outstanding result was in Concordia this year, but not the position because 6 is in the general, but in time. Another result and the most important one that took me to my competition that I am proud of, was the 2º put my category in the IM 70.3 of Pucón in Chile this year in my 35-39 group. This result led me to qualify for the 70.3 World Championship that takes place in Austria in August of this year, I never expected to be there, I did not look for it or dream it ... but today I carry it in my soul as the best of memories.

The triathlon that I like and recommend most is the Olympic triathlon, because with reasonable training anyone can do it.

Finally ... on what advice to give, it is difficult to advise, but what one should keep in mind, is that if you want a goal and you want to do something, you have to try it. In life, women are put to the test in many difficult situations that we can face. We are able to carry 9 for months into a being within us, give it life and face all the difficulties that may arise.

What I always say that being a mother, does not mean forgetting us, on the contrary when our children see that we do whatever it takes to achieve what is proposed, it is the best example and especially when it comes to sports that do well our health, mind, body and soul. The advice I would give is to be organized and not forget any detail, girls, go ahead!

ESTHER LEAL (SPAIN)

ESTHER LEAL (SPAIN)

Esther Leal 35 years. I'm a telecommunications engineer and I work at Airbus Defense and Space. I live in Tres Cantos (Madrid), I'm married to my lifelong boy, Sergio, who is also a triathlete, and we have a little girl from 2 called Iria.

I started to "run" to get rid of the anxiety of quitting smoking 11 years ago. Before that, sport was almost non-existent in my life. From there to triathlon (I competed in my first 5 duathlon months later) and until now ... the longest period in which I have been standing has been the quarantine hehe

During the week I get up at the 6: 00. Breakfast, I prepare to Iria, the tupper, a little the house and I enter to work to the 8: 00. I have 1 / 8 reduction of day, so I go to the 15: 15-15: 30 (as a tupper in front of the PC in the office) and, until Sergio arrives with Iria on the 17: 15 is the time I have to train (leaves as much 1h25 'net). Then it's Sergio's turn and I'm Mom 100%. The (fortunately) few days that I have to fold, I do it once we put the little one on the 21h. Normally at 22: 30 we are already in bed. On weekends, if the grandparents are there, we usually leave Iria in the morning and take the opportunity to train together, especially the bike. If not, then take turns too. The truth is that we do not stop for a second, but it's what we like, so it's exhausting but it makes us happy!

Last September, at the Ironman in Wales, I finished 1st of all the women's GGEE, 8th of the women's general and I won my slot for the Hawaii Ironman in 2016. Just 2 years after being a mom… who was going to tell me!

My fetish triathlon is the Pálmaces triathlon (1800-60-13 without drafting). I'm there whenever I can since my first season. They have a special charm.

After being a mom we will never be the same as before ... we are better! :-) I would tell them to trust their body, to have patience and go step by step, which is amazing the ability of moms to squeeze time and get the most out of efficiency. Ah !, important, watch and take care of your pelvic floor, which after pregnancy can generate many problems if not rehabilitated.

LUCIANA BERMUDEZ (BRAZIL - SPAIN)

LUCIANA BERMUDEZ (BRAZIL - SPAIN)

My name is Luciana Bermudez Martins I am Brazilian, I live in Marbella I have 39 years and a son of 2 years called Kilian. I'm a real estate agent.

I started doing a super sprint test in Marbella. And I'm hooked on this sport. Then I went changing distances until in 2009 debuts in long distance in Roth. I arrived at the goal crying but with joy and from then on I have not stopped.

I wake up at the 5: 40 to swim. I go home and pick up the little one and take him to the nursery that is near my office. I spend part of the day in the office and the other part in the street teaching houses, I have a real estate agency. Before eating I try to do the second session of the day, I go to the boardwalk to run or I do bike in roller. As quickly and I return to the office. Hopefully I go to the 6pm pick up the kid from my parents house and go home. Walk to the dogs (when Jaime is not), bath, dinner and the bed that I already close my eyes alone!

The race that I feel most proud of is the last one I did, a few weeks ago, at the Ironman in Malaysia I finished second in my category. A fairly hard race given the weather conditions. In shorter distances I won in 2010 the Laguna Phuket Triathlon in my age group. In the same place, I did 3ª last year in the middle distance Challenge. I like Asia!

I really love the Challenge of Phuket is a medium distance, or the classic Laguna Phuket (1,8-55-12) which is a week before. I have done it several times and it is very beautiful and then the holidays are perfect there. Of the Ironman brand I liked Brazil, Cozumel and Malaysia, surely I will repeat in some of them.

On advice ... because the first thing is to organize. Because there is not much time for us. Also do not stress if one day you can not train, maybe the little one is bad or wants to be with his mother. I am also very lucky to be able to count on my partner who stays with him when they play long days of training! But above all enjoy what we do and feel proud because being a mom, working and training is not easy.

ERMINIA FAVALE (VENEZUELA)

ERMINIA FAVALE (VENEZUELA)

Erminia Favale, 52 years, architect by profession. I have 2 children one of 27 years and the other one in a month will be 19 years old.

Before doing triathlons I started doing marathons in the 2006, then in the 2008 in the club where I trained, the triathlon issue came out and who said fear ... I bought a road bike and a month and a half competed in an Olympic, I felt very well and a month and a half ago there was an Ironman half on Margarita Island and I also scored. From then on I was on and I scored the first Ironman for the 2009.

A typical day, hehe ... every day are not the same, especially over the years have been changing a bit. When my children were younger, especially the second and just in my beginning in the world of triathlon, my days started taking them to school, thereafter training more work, looking for them to school and be aware of their activities in the afternoons. With them I shared some of my careers and it is the most!

Currently my young son has already gone to college but I have had more work so you have to deal with everything, the important thing is to organize to be able to fulfill everything and achieve the objectives. There is always a way although things are changing ????

The important thing in every career rather than winning is to enjoy it. But if I had to count my careers I would name Cozumel 2011 where I had the luck to qualify for the Kona Ironman World Championship with a 10 time: 52, apart from that, I want to stand out when in Miami I did my best time in 70.3 with 5h.

To date I have 8 Ironman and only one I have repeated. There are many IMs all over the world and the fantastic thing is to be able to always do a different one and in that way to know another country.

Of which I would not recommend this Panamacity, that most people go because it is supposed to be the most flat ... but in my point of view has been the most boring of which I have gone, especially the part of athletics.

The advice I would give to all the moms who are starting is that they get carried away by passion, that they enjoy every moment of what they do throughout the day combining all the family activities and they will see good results. On the other hand this is a lifestyle that we decided to take !!!

KAREEN HUMAN (MEXICO - PANAMA)

KAREEN HUMAN (MEXICO - PANAMA)

My name is Kareen Human Hurtado, I am 35 years old, I am a Mexican resident in Panama. I have a son of 9 years: Alfredo Trujano Human.

I started jogging for the first time when we came to live in Panama almost 8 years ago. Soon I met a triathlon group where I started training and I was hooked with the sport.

I am a very active person by nature, so the hustle and bustle is part of me day by day. I start training about two hours before my son wakes up to go to school, then I prepare him for school and then continue with my form. At noon I take care of the house and send earrings and in the afternoon I attend a group of boys who train in the triathlon.

All races are special and there is a special feeling for having completed each one. The one that I have suffered and enjoyed most is the Ironman of Chattanooga, I managed to improve my brand, the second place in my category and my second qualification to the Hawaii World Championship.

If we talked about long distance triathlon, which is my favorite, I would say that Ironman from Cozumel is the best option. The event takes place on the island of the Mexican Caribbean, which is spectacular and the people are dedicated to warmly welcoming the competitors and their families.

I would love to start by saying that it is enough for a woman to set a goal for it to be achieved; women are warriors by instinct and mothers have a special weapon, we know the absolute exhaustion and we do not know the idea of abandoning the responsibilities and tasks that a mother has, even if we are boiling in fever. Triathlon allows us to apply that determined instinct that distinguishes us. I would tell them not to be scared with the forms, if the time is well managed they are very feasible. I also suggest that they involve their children and their husbands, that way they all carry the same symphony and the days flow more relaxed. Enjoy the road and live day by day.

DANIELA ROMERO (BOLIVIA)

DANIELA ROMERO (BOLIVIA)

My name is Daniela Noya de Romero, I am 30 years old, I am Bolivian and I work as a Dental Hygienist. I have 2 daughters Alexia from 6 years and Arianna from 3 years.

I've been running 7 for short distances 30-40 min a day now but I wanted the challenge of being able to swim and bike and decided to do it at the beginning of the 2014 year, that's how my triathlon started.

My day starts very soon, I wake up at 3 every morning 6 days per week I train the 4: 00 am to 6: 30 am. I go back home I prepare breakfast for my girls and I get ready to work. 8 work: 00 am to 5: 00 pm I return home to do homework, dinner, games, prepare for the other day and to bed after I put my daughters to sleep

My best result was a month ago the 27 of September of the 2015 complete the full Ironman in Chattanooga TN in 11h20min. I feel very proud of that career.

My favorite race is the Chattanooga 70.3 and 140.6 because it is the city where I live, it is beautiful.

As advice I would tell all moms not to give up that it is very important to dedicate a separate time to oneself, that with dedication they can achieve everything. And that God will give you the strength to achieve each goal. The feeding and hydration is very important too.
