The Madrid Triathlon Federation, organizer of the event, has sent this afternoon explaining the reasons for the suspension. According to the statement "We do not have the permits or authorizations of the City of Madrid necessary to develop the aforementioned event

From the Madrid Triathlon Federation will be informed in the coming days of the new date on which the Triathlon Day would be organized. "

"The Madrid Triathlon Federation was preparing to organize Triathlon Day at the Casa de Campo in Madrid on June 6 and 7, 2015, for which it had completed all the procedures to obtain the necessary permits and authorizations in a timely manner. just as it always does in sports events organized by us.
 
In the last hours we have been informed that we do not have the necessary permits or authorizations from the Madrid City Council to carry out the aforementioned event. The coincidence with other events taking place in the same place and environment, and the confluence of a high number of people in all of them, seems to be the cause or motive for not having finally granted the permit or authorization, despite the innumerable procedures and procedures carried out. until the last moment by the Madrid Triathlon Federation.
 
We regret the problems that, for reasons beyond our control, the suspension of the event causes participants, spectators, sponsors and other people who would have expected to attend the different events to celebrate within the Triathlon Day. From the Madrid Triathlon Federation will be informed in the coming days of the new date on which the Triathlon Day would be organized."
