Bad news. As I said on my Twitter I miss the Abu Dhabi World Series because of back problems.
After several tests the result is that I have fractured a vertebra, which means 6 weeks stop and goodbye to the Olympic classification, because not only I miss Abu Dhabi, but practically all that remains of the qualification period.

I started having some back discomfort about 3 months ago. They resonated me and gave me the wrong diagnosis, so the treatment was also wrong. I kept training (because in theory I could) with the discomfort, which was getting worse and worse, until one day last week when I was training I felt a very strong pain that left me almost unable to walk. After that day I was visiting doctors and doing tests until we had the diagnosis.

Of all that I have written "publicly" without a doubt this is what is costing me the most, but you have to try to see the positive side of things (if they have it).

Although it was not yet classified it is hard to assume that you can not try to get your dream for something that does not depend on you. But there are more races, and I have many years ahead of triathlon, and I think I have to feel lucky for everything I'm experiencing, even if there are difficult moments like this.

Thank you all for the support, and infinite thanks to Javi, Carlos Prieto, and especially Anneke Jenkins for all they have done for me these days. Thanks to Dr. Jeroen Swart for helping me and getting involved so much, and to all those who have been outstanding and helping me from a distance. Already Vicente Hernández Cabrera because I could not even get out of bed (literally) without him.

I hope to return as soon as I can, but always thinking first about my health.
