The legendary Titan triathlon Sierra de Cádiz opens registration for its twelfth edition

The test, under the motto "feel", claims the unique experience that involves facing this challenge away from the commercial circuits

El Titan Sierra de Cádiz 8 will celebrate its 2016 in October, its twelfth edition, consolidated as a mythical triathlon in the national calendar outside of commercial circuits, and with the aim of vindicating the unique experience that involves facing this sporting challenge.

Under the motto of "feel", the inscriptions for the Titan have been opened this week. The organizers reconvene the triathletes' brotherhood who have established a bond of great emotional intensity with this test, and also those athletes who do not know it yet, but want to experience another way of doing triathlon, in which the values ​​of companionship , solidarity, respect for nature and desire to excel are above brands.

After two editions that focused on the celebration of the tenth anniversary of this triathlon with modified distances, the Titan returns in 2016 to its classic format (2 km + 90 km + 21 km).

The participants will swim 2 kilometers in the reservoir of Zahara de la Sierra-El Gastor; will face 90 kilometers by bicycle, with ascent to the ports of Las Palomas (1.357) and El Boyar (1.103 meters); and, finally, they will run 20 kilometers between Zahara de la Sierra, Algodonales and again Zahara de la Sierra, in whose central square the finish line is located after a final ascent that is a "wall" of three kilometers.

The circuit is one of the most extreme of the long distance triathlon in Europe. "We challenge the triathletes to swim, pedal and run in a beautiful and wild triathlon like no other, but above all, we challenge them to feel the sport in another way, to experience what the chronicles of the Titan narrate, something that is only possible know spending that weekend in the Sierra de Cádiz, "they say from the organization.

The Titan will be twinned in this twelfth edition with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation (FVF), one of the most prestigious NGDOs in the country for its commitment to eradicate extreme poverty in the Indian region of Anantapur.

The organization and the participants will focus on financing a project to build a reservoir in this area, which is one of the most deserted in India, with the aim of providing water for consumption by people, for the supply of livestock and for the irrigation of crops. In this way, a parallel will be established between the reservoir of Zahara de la Sierra-El Gastor, the epicenter of the test, with which it will be built in the town of Naginayanicheruvu, in the region of Madakasira. 125 families of disadvantaged castes will be benefited by the construction of this infrastructure, which will also involve other funders.

Among other actions, the twelfth edition will have a commemorative shirt of the Titan and the FVF, whose sales will be used to finance the project of the reservoir.

Titan Sierra de Cádiz is a certified test by Proyecto Amore as a sporting event committed to solidarity and the environment. In addition to the aforementioned collaboration with the FVF, three actions will be implemented that respect the environment, specifically, the sending of all the participants of the "Amore Project Ecorrecomendaciones", the reduction of paper consumption and the use of recycled paper and delivery of a local and ecological product as a gift to all the participants.
