Everything ready for a new edition of Pure Triathlon Marina d'or!
We interviewed the race director Fermín Egido
Fermín Egido, Triathlon fan and visible head of the organization of the Pure Triathlon Marina d'Or 2015 He reveals the ins and outs of the test and tells us about his role in the organization.
As an athlete he began his career in the world of Triathlon in the year 2008, he had previously made his first steps in MTB and Cycling, but soon he felt "the hook" of the Triathlon and recognizes that it is a sport that entertains and motivates him at the same level.
This passion moved to his professional life and is currently the manager of the events company "White Go for It" organizer of Pure Triathlon 226 Marina d'Or 2015 and that the next October 24 will take place in Oropesa in the Long Distance modality.
How did the idea of making this spectacular circuit in Marina d'Or come about? Had you organized an event of this magnitude before? Who is behind the organization?
I had long had the idea of doing an event of this magnitude and through previous experiences with "White" our work began to consolidate and the long distance was closer to becoming a reality.
We have been organizing Triathlons since the 2010 year and we have more than 60 competitions behind us in the different Olympic formats.
Our team consists of a group of professionals, committed, that are at the bottom of the canyon, and that in the dates before the race is multiplied to get to form a great "Team" of work and motivation for all this to go well.
Any distinguishing feature of the circuit Pure Triathlon Regarding other competitions in this sports field?
If I have to highlight something as a link between all of us who organize and participate in a Triathlon, I would stand out above all things ... passion.
And within this union, as a differentiating axis in the case of Pure Triathlon Marina d'Or I would highlight three aspects:
The first is that since the year 2002 "White" has developed different events in areas as diverse as educational, cultural, social, etc. All this experience has endowed us with a strong conviction when working for and for people. We are concerned about emotions and our purpose in this test is to link the sporting with the human and give it a character of its own in this regard.
On the other hand, thanks to these previous experiences and very linked to this work in the most cultural area, for us it is very important to take care of the aesthetics of the sporting event. In Pure Triathlon Marina d'Or we work in detail, so that everything is perfect throughout the competition. We care about generating emotions and that people are excited about what we do.
To finish and within the most social sphere, for us it is very important that sports have a solidary purpose. We are concerned about leaving the world a little better than what we found, in this sense, we have a project called "Team White" that helps young people at risk of exclusion to seek new motivations through the Triathlon.
Why choose this Pure Triathlon?
It is a test made from the illusion and that gives off soul. I would highlight that sense of closeness both in the human and in the purely sporting.
The conditions of the course are unbeatable, the facilities of Marina d'Or offer some very good characteristics for the development of the test. In the central area of grass, is located the city of triathlon, surrounded by the area of hotels and apartments, from there you can see the different transitions of the race and the environment becomes incredible, also for the companions, who interact constantly with each other and get into the competition with the triathletes.
Speaking of Marina d'Or How is the expectation of this test presented in such a place?
Marina d'Or is a space with many possibilities, even if I imagined the good conditions of the facilities for a long distance triathlon. It has very good accessibility, with easy outputs for bike, for foot race, etc. And everything very close so that the people who are watching it can enjoy it in the first person.
To this we must add that the triathlete travels with company: his family, his partner ... and are a very important part of this competition, they sacrifice with him and this place is a great reward for all of them.
In this sense, from the organization, we have developed a series of activities to generate that climate of good atmosphere and constant interaction. We have prepared papers, for example, "How to reconcile family life and triathlon" and even a race of 5K so that the companions participate the day before the queen test.
In the end it is the space that offers you these options and for us it is very important to create that close environment where the triathlon is lived as something full of good feelings and with a very emotional part.
Y For Fermín Egido, what is better to compete or organize?
The truth is that I enjoy everything I do. Organize I like it a lot, because it's something you do for others and it's a very nice reward. And competing is something that I also like, now that I see it from the outside I value it more ... The truth is that I like both, I can not choose.
What future challenges do you have left in this sport? Where is your limit?
I do not close anything, as long as I like it and can enjoy it at 100%. At the organizational level let's say that we are in the beginning, we still have many things to do in Pure Triathlon. We move forward little by little, taking steps on insurance and knowing what we do, as I said for us, the details are very important and doing things well and that is the line we want to follow in our work.
