This weekend is the seventh round of the Triathlon World Series in the city of Montreal, the second event in Canada this season, after the victory of Mario Mola in Edmonton last Saturday.

Montreal will host an international ITU round for 24ª, this time a world series on Olympic distance where the favorites are Mario Mola, Fernando Alarza y Javier Gómez Noya, the first three classified in the World Ranking. Vicente Hernández will complete the Spanish representation in the men's event.

Mario Mola that has proven to be the sprint distance king, comes on a roll after having achieved two consecutive victories in that distance and the fourth consecutive one, since has won all the tests in which he has participated. If you win this test you will enter next to the British Alistair Brownlee as the only triathletes who have won 5 consecutive world series.

Fernando Alarza, second in the Ranking, he has not had luck in the last two participations, since he was involved in a fall in Hamburg where I cannot finish and he participated in Edmonton with intestinal problems where he finished in ninth position. Alarza has achieved the best career sector on foot in all the tests in which he has participated where 3 has won medals this season.

Javier Gómez Noya, the king of Olympic distance, cstarted the season winning in Abu Dhabi, and although he has competed at a great level he has been out of the podium. In Montreal it returns to compete on Olympic distance, what benefits the 5 times World Champion and that we will surely see fighting for victory in the race.

We also have to take into account the Australian Jacob Birtwhistle, second in Hamburg and Edmonton, where I star in a spectacular attack on Mario Mola, thinking it was the last lap but he realized he was wrong, but managed to keep the second place in the race. The South African Richard Murray , bronze in Edmonton, will also be one of the athletes to consider. Jonathan Brownlee, out of the fight for the world title, I'm sure it does not make it easy, since he wants to win.

Male start list

In the women's event, the big favorite is Flora Duffy, world leader and who has achieved 4 consecutive victories this season and is intractable. It will also be in the full output Katie Zaferes that has not come down from fourth place this season and Kristen Kasper, second and third ranking. Andrea Hewwit winner in Abu Dhabi and Gold Coast this season returns to the competition and Ashleigh Gentle. Carolina Routier will be the only Spanish representative in the test

Female start list

The women's event will be played on 5 on Saturday at 19: 36 and the men's on Sunday at 19: 36.
