The Trolley of Portocolom 2016 already opens inscriptions

It has been chosen the best triathlon of the Balearic Islands in the last two years.

The countdown begins for the most awaited edition of the International Triathlon of Portocolom (Mallorca), the nineteenth, which will be played on the 10 of April of 2016. A 250 days for its celebration officially open registrations for the two formats (55.5 and 111) of one of the first triathlons in Europe of the next season 2016.

El Triathlon of Portocolom, which has been elected in the last two years as the "Best Triathlon of the Balearic Islands"For the triathletes themselves, it will improve the transition zones in the Portocolom yacht club and will extend to 500 the number of lanes for the 55.5 distance (500 m for swimming, 50 km for cycling and 5 km for running). Again, a great cast of professional triathletes will start their season in Portocolom and will fight for the 4.000 € in cash prizes for the winners.

Portocolom will welcome nineteenth year its traditional and well-valued international triathlon to be held at the 10 in April of 2016, practically opening the European season of this sport on its attractions and innovators 55.5 and 111 formats (1 kilometer of swimming, 100 of cycling and 10 of foot race), that will reunite to more than a thousand triathletes in this test of half distance and will be soothes, again, of the multitudinal duathlon for minors TriKids the Saturday before also by the streets of this beautiful Mallorcan town, belonging to Felanitx.

In 2016 bet again for the growth of the test and the number of numbers for the 55.5 distance will be extended to the participating 500, the pit / transition zone will be improved and extended and the economic prizes (4.000 €) will be maintained for the three top women's and men's overall rankings, both in the 55.5 and 111 formats.

Again, the double and demanding ascent in bicycle to Sant Salvador, will be the great challenge for the participants, that before will have to swim in the crystalline waters of the nautical club of Portocolom and, finally, they will walk on foot 5 or 10 km for the center historical of the locality and happening through its mythical lighthouse until the goal. Until the December 31 there will be special prices in the inscriptions, and federated in the Triathlon Federation of the Balearic Islands will also have discounts.

In the past editions, the sport level was exceptional with triathletes of the likes of Markus Hörmann, Fabian Rahn, Florian Kriegl, Carlos Lopez, Miguel Angel Fidalgo and a very powerful female squad with Eimear Mullan, Lis Gruber, Eva Wutti, Gajer, Diana Riesler , Susan Blatt ... There are also many famous faces competing in Portocolom, like former professional cyclist Marcel Wust, or 1 Formula drivers Pedro Martínez de la Rosa or Alex Wurz. 

In addition to the two events, in which you can also compete for relay teams, there will also be a duathlon for minors (TriKids) on Saturday 9 in April.

Triathlon of Portocolom is organized by Kumulus Mallorca and the Club Triatló Portocolom, with the support of the City Council of Felanitx.
