The Triathlon of Portocolom best triathlon in the Balearic Islands for the third year

For the third year the Portocolom Triathlon has been recognized as the best triathlon in the Balearic Islands of the season by a vote among the athletes themselves and by the Federació de Triatló of Les Illes Balears in the autonomic gala of this sport.

El Portocolom Triathlon 2017, which meets 20 editions next April 9, has once again surpassed such important events as the Powerman, Challenge Peguera-Mallorca or Ironman Mallorca, and continues its internationalization and evolution with sustained growth with the premise of staying as a benchmark for the triathletes who start their season in April and who want to enjoy an event of great organizational quality in which all participants are spoiled.

The Federació de Triatló de Les Illes Balears has awarded the International Triathlon of Portocolom for the third edition as "the best triathlon of the year 2016 in the Balearic Islands"After announcing the results of the open voting among the Balearic triathletes. This new recognition is a great support for this test that has managed to overcome firmly years of crisis and that meets the next 9 2017 April twenty years in the international calendar, and again will mean the start of the season for more than 1.000 triathletes arrived from all over Europe.

20 € TRIATLON DISCOUNT PORTOCOLOM 111

In this way, the teamwork of the sports events organization company Kumulus, together with the City Council of Felanitx and the Club Triatló Portocolom, has once again received the support of the Balearic athletes. For the twentieth year Portocolom will host its international middle distance triathlon on the attractive ones 55.5 and 111 distances (1 kilometer of swimming, 100 of cycling and 10 of foot race), which is season after season one of the first in the calendar in all Europe, and that will congregate more thousand athletes between the two events, to which children will be added and girls to participate in the previous TriKids on Saturday 8 in April.

"It is a great satisfaction to receive this award again from the Federation and local triathletes, it is a great reward for the work we have already developed in these two decades of triathlon in one of the best enclaves in Spain for this sport. It has also made us especially excited to continue growing internationally and have consolidated the duathlon of minors in the calendar, which is the largest in terms of participation of all those made in Mallorca", Indicated Jaume Vicens, race director and one of the historical figures of the triathlon at Spanish level.

In 2017 the International Triathlon of Portocolom will continue distributing a economic donation of 4.000 € that will be shared among the top three women's and men's overall rankings, both in the 55.5 format and in the 111 (1 swimming kilometer, 100 cycling and 10 foot race).

The two tests on 111 and 55.5 km will take the triathletes to the same and valued routes than in previous years. Those registered to the 111 will have to give two laps to the cycling circuit while those of the 55.5 will only give one, climbing only once the 494 meters of Sant Salvador. Swimming will once again be in the crystal clear waters of Club Nautic de Portocolom, while the final walking race of 5 or 10 km will have the goal in the heart of this unique Mediterranean town.

Until the December 31 there will be special prices in the inscriptions, and federated in the Triathlon Federation of the Balearic Islands will also have discounts.
