Spanish triathletes around the world

There are many Spaniards who triumph in the triathlon outside our country and we wanted to know them a little

 

In the following article we want to introduce you to several Spaniards who live outside our borders, in other countries as far away as the United States, Peru or Australia. The majority combine their studies or profession with the triathlon ... sport in which they shine, at Elite level or as GGEE

To begin we want to highlight the cases of Anton Ruanova y Alberto CasillasBoth have a long-term goal of trying to qualify for the Olympics. from Tokyo 2020. Ruanova competing for Brazil and Alberto for Lithuania.

During the year 2015 was working in the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Brasilia and this 2016 has returned to the competition in a professional manner representing Brazil. His beginnings could not be better, because he was proclaimed South American champion, Brazilian champion and also got one of his best results as a triathlete being 5º in the Huatulco World Cup.

He started competing for Lithuania at the beginning of 2015. Previously he had excelled above all in the toughest triathlons in Spain, with victories in Sierra Nevada and La Bola del Mundo. During the past year little by little it was growing and acquiring ITU experience being 6th in the Cto. of the Baltic. In 2016 he continues to add experience in ITU competitions, and a few days ago he was proclaimed champion of Lithuania.

In 2016 there will be 3 national champions in 3 different countries born in Spain ... Antón champion of Brazil, Alberto Champion of Lithuania and the Champion of Spain that will be known in Bañoles in the month of September.

It is also they want to highlight other triathletes who live in different countries and shine as GGEE. In Peru they reside.

She is a doctor and currently works as a line manager at Nipro and he is the CEO of Mitsubishi. Last year Marina was IM's European Champion in 25-29 in Frankfurt and top20 in her Age group in Kona. In this 2016 both will compete in the IM 70.3 World Cup in their age groups.

We are still in America and now we travel to the US, to the town of Roswell, about 20 'from Atlanta. He has lived there for 20 years Carmen Gil Brahim who works as a teacher In 2014 was the best Spanish in Kona and in this 2016 will return to compete in "Mecca".

Hilario Real

We crossed the Pacific ... and changed hemisphere until we reached Australia, there we found Hilario Real, who has been living in Melbourne for 4 for years and works in human resources for the Inditex group, as well as being a sports psychologist and triathlon trainer. Hilario told us that he has a special memory of the Philip Island triathlon, which takes place in the motorcycling circuit and where he won.

 Isora Sosa  y Aday Álvarez

Finally we ended up in Qatar, where they live Isora Sosa (Who we met in an interview at the beginning of the year) and Aday Álvarez. Both have about 2 years in the Asian country.

Aday is an engineer and works as a Manager, for Qatar Airways, at the Qatar International Airport. For her part, Isora works as a swim coach, triathlon and personal trainer with VIP clients of the most important families of Qatar.

In the past WTS of Abu Dhabi Isora got the victory in the general of all the GGEE and obviously his group, while Aday was 2º in the general and winner of his age group. In September they will run the IM 70.3 World Championship in Australia, after qualifying last year in Bahrain's 70.3 IM.
