Triathlon Madrid KM0: Next Stop

Before and After Eneko Elosegi: The Imperious Traveler

Lover of new challenges and tireless adventurer are the two words that define him perfectly. For Eneko in every corner of the world there is a new challenge to discover. Top 10 in Ironman at an international level such as IM Uk, IM Taiwan or IM Philippines ... with the aim of "arriving as quickly as possible", sports tourism has undoubtedly become his "lifestyle"

An architect by training and a masseur by profession, Eneko has lived for several years in the Asian continent demonstrating his most adventurous and versatile side, capable of adapting to any situation with the sole objective of combining his two great passions: tourism and triathlon.

KM0 Triathlon: Next Stop

At just 32 years old, Eneko has already traveled several continents competing in Ironman distance. A few months ago, and thanks to the renowned elite triathlete Alejandro Santamaría, he heard about the MADRID Km0 Triathlon and did not hesitate for a single second: "Demanding profile, incomparable landscapes and some heat ... then here I go!"

Eneko can be for many an image of the popular triathlete who has turned this sport into his passion, and from Triathlon News we ask ourselves

How is the BEFORE and AFTER TRIATLON MADRID KM0? That is why we interview you today, August 27, just one month before the competition, and we will repeat this interview on October 27, just one month after the competition.

ENEKO, TELL US HOW DO YOU HAVE PROVIDED YOUR DAY PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION?

Living 5h from Madrid, I will surely arrive on Friday, I will not try to sleep much that night because in my case, I do not usually sleep much the day before the test.

Nerves? Yes, if I usually have nerves the truth ... but I think it's important to have them, along with that fear or respect for the test, it is part of the charm of the competition ... at the end of the season Be miss those nerves!

And manias? The truth is that I do not have many manias, before I had more and was more superstitious ... but after so many "bad, good and average" luck ... I try not to think about those things!

Tricks? There are not many tricks, the best trick is to arrive with "hunger to suffer", to enjoy suffering and put in the spit everything you have that day. Probare get more motivated than ever to put more eager than ever to reach the goal of KM0 with satisfaction that I've given everything I had that day. There is no more trick than to stand up and fight for it.

AND THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION? HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT?

I'm quite a disaster in planning trips, but leaving everything for the last moment keeps me entertained so I do not think so much about the race and I get less nervous! I still do not know how or how I'll go to Madrid!

Favorite segment? Cycling, of course, is where I am best, but I hope to defend myself well in all three.

Swimming? Same as cycling and running (laughs) ... Hard.

Surprises? I expect a very hard and hot race. We'll have to prepare! Of course, as spectacular as you can imagine the test, have the opportunity to run at the Puerta del Sol will be incredible, this is why it deserves to give everything to finish the race I'm sure!

If I say "META" what comes to mind? Arrive as quickly as possible!

WILL THERE BE A "AFTER" OF TRIATLON MADRID KM0?

Sleep and rest as much as possible, and eat a lot!

What if I tell you the word ULTRA? (Laughs) If I recover well, if I would like to plan another Ironman, but Ultra (laughs), I have enough work to finish the Ironman distance as fast as possible!
