San Lorenzo de El Escorial will host the KM0 medium distance test at 2016

"San Lorenzo de El Escorial will host the KM0 medium distance test at 2016"

A few days after the first edition of the long distance triathlon takes place Madrid KM0 which will be held next Sunday 27, the General Directorate of Youth and Sports of the Community of Madrid, the Department of Sports of San Lorenzo de El Escorial together with the organizing company of the event, Annapurna Sport, have officially announced today that San Lorenzo de El Escorial will host a medium distance test.

Two will be the big differences between the "Triathlon San Lorenzo de El Escorial KM0 "with his older brother, the Madrid Triathlon KM0. First, the length of the three disciplines that make it up; because San Lorenzo de El Escorial will offer a smaller version of the usual distances of a long distance triathlon being 1.900 m in swimming, 110 km in bike and 21,95 km the race on foot.

Even so, both tests will keep great similarities "not only in dates but also in the hardness of the routes and in the fact of having the goal or KM0 located in the most recognized point of San Lorenzo de El Escorial", Explains Alfonso Rodríguez de Sadia, creator of the event.

And secondly, the 21,95 km of the half-distance walking race will be played entirely in a tough mountain circuit around San Lorenzo de El Escorial and will not reach Madrid as in the long distance triathlon.

But saved these two differences, both tests will compete jointly the swim section in the Pantano de Riosequillo (Buitrago de Lozoya) and share part of the classic "cycling ascent to the ports" crowning this time Canencia, Morcuera and Cotos.

The average distance  San Lorenzo de El Escorial KM0 was born with the illusion of responding to the request of many triathletes to be able to have a medium-distance competition but being faithful to the initial philosophy of KM0: touring emblematic places of the Community of Madrid, the ascent by bike to the main ports of the Sierra Norte in an online stage and the KM0 in an emblematic place.

For its part, San Lorenzo de El Escorial always bets on SPORTS, CULTURE and ART.

Triathlon Madrid KM0 has the collaboration and support of the Community of Madrid, and the City of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
