Valencia Triathlon crowns Alberto Romero and Miriam Muñoz as champions

They were the fastest in the Olympic distance, absolute protagonist of a second day where the rain did not cloud the sporting spectacle

 

 

Alberto Romero, of CDM Moncada, has proclaimed itself the winner of Valencia Triathlon in Olympic distance after an exciting arrival to the sprint. Finally, Moreno was the first to cross the finish line in 2: 08: 32, with only 5 seconds ahead Fernando Martínez Ortiz, from CT Laboratorio Sys. Tercero was his teammate, Carlos Menchen, who completed the test in 2: 10: 20.

The big favorites, Emilio Aguayo and Diego Robles could not fight for the victory, when they retired due to punctures in the cycling sector.

In the female category, the victory of Miriam Muñoz, of CT Laboratorio Sys, which revalidated its title as champion when stopping the chronometer in 2: 22: 47. Second, Sandra Muñoz (2: 24: 28) and third Ana Caleya (2: 29: 05).

Environment and emotion despite the rain

The rain was uninvited protagonist in the second day of Valencia Triathlon. After a sunny Saturday, the city dawned covered and with moderate rain, creating a new scenario in which the event had never been developed.

However, time did not diminish the mood of the triathletes who met at the starting line. The privilege of swimming in the calm waters of the dock allowed the swimming to develop normally and then to take extreme precautions in the cycle section. Finally, the great support of the public and the animation of the race on foot pushed the athletes towards the goal, located in the Veles e Vents building.
