In the women's competition the victory was for the British Vicky Holland with a time of 56: 51, followed by the Australian Ashleigh Gentle with 57: 02 and by the also British Gergia Taylor-Brown.
All the Edmonton WTS it was the penultimate world series before the Gold Coast Grand Final and the last sprint distance test.
This year there has been no female representation by the Spanish team in the Canadian event, in a WTS where we want to remember Carolina Routier, who in 2015 achieved a great fourth place, which is to date the best result of a Spanish in a world series. Carol is still recovering from the outrage she suffered a few months ago while training and we want to take advantage to encourage the recovery.
The American Summer Cook was the first to cover the 750 meters followed by the British Jessica Learmonth who after a quick transition was the first to get on the bike. A few seconds behind them was a tight group, where Vicky Holland, Katie Zaferes and Georgina Taylor-Brown were. For her part, Jodie Stimpson was 15” behind them and Alsleig Gentle was a little further behind, 30” behind Holland.
