Víctor del Corral favorite for the Ironman 70.3 Barcelona. 2.500 trilatetas enrolled in the test

2500 athletes representing 78 countries will meet on May 22 in Calella

The town of Calella (Barcelona) will once again be the epicenter of international triathlon this weekend as part of the celebration of the IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona. An event that reaches its third edition with the highest participation of its history: 2500 athletes will represent a total of 78 different countries, which means a new milestone for the organization of IRONMAN Spain.

Among the participants a total of 60 professional athletes fill an exciting poster of athletes in both categories. In men, the local Victor del Corral, French Silvan Sudrie or the German Maurice Clavel are the top favorites for this victory while in females the American Heather Lendway, Emma Pallant of Switzerland or the German Carina Brechters opt for the podium of this IRONMAN Barcelona 2016. The Catalan Mercè Tusell will be the only national representative in the women's poster in its official debut in an IRONMAN 70.3 event.

In addition to the race that will be held on Sunday 22 in May, Calella welcomes other sporting events linked to this IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona such as the popular children's race IRONKIDS or the IRONGIRL test in which the role is for the female athlete. Both always involve a successful participation in a truly festive atmosphere.

The IRONKIDS will be played on Saturday morning at the 10h and the participation of 700 boys and girls of school age is expected while the IRONGIRL will be held immediately after the 12h.

In addition to all these ingredients, the Paseo Marítimo de Calella will host one of the most important fairs in Europe with more than thirty exhibitors that will travel to the city to showcase their products and novelties. Without a doubt one more claim to get closer to Calella this coming weekend.
