WTS Cozumel: In search of the heir of Javier Gómez Noya

We analyze the best times in the last finals of the Triathlon World Series

 

A few days ago we showed you a article with the options Mario Mola, Jonny Brownlee y Fernando Alarza to be world champions in 2016. The Mallorcan is the only one that depends on himself, while Jonny depends on the result of Mario and Fernando of the result of these two.

La grand finale of Cozumel (Mexico) of 2016 will mean the end of the reign of Javier Gómez Noya, who has been world champion of the last three editions.

 In the following article we are going to cite the best times of each discipline for any of the three contenders for the 2016 title in the last three finals, in addition to recalling those of Javi himself and also those of the Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee.

2013 Grand Final WTS London

Swimming

The best swimmer was Jonny with 17: 10,

Cycling

The best biker Mola with 1: 00: 03

Race on foot

The best in the car on foot was Noya with 29: 34, who was also the final winner with a time of 1: 48: 16.

This was one of the most exciting victories of Noya's sports career, as the World Cup was resolved in a tight final with Jonny Brownlee. Fernando Alarza was not present in this competition

2014 Grand Final WTS Edmonton

Swimming

The best swimmer was Alistair Brownlee with 17: 10

Cycling

Alistair Brownlee also solo escaped and marked the best time in cycling with 59: 49 and took the victory with a final time of 1: 48: 44 in one of the biggest exhibitions of Alistair in his career.

Race on foot

The best on foot was Mola (2º in the competition) with 29: 49 followed by Noya (3º) to 12 seconds, which earned him to be world champion for the fourth time.

 

2015 Grand Final WTS Chicago

Swimming

The best after the 1500m of swimming was Jonny Brownlee with 16: 29,

Cycling

The best in the 40 km was Gómez Noya scored the best time with 57: 46

Race on foot

In the 10km on foot race Mola "flew" with 28: 59, being the first triathlete to lose 29 'in an 10k in a great WTS final.

Mola took the victory in Chicago with 1: 44: 53, the second position went to Noya ... who achieved his 5º world title.
